I wish it were longer!

Great Chee and Leaphorn story in classic Tony Hillerman fashion. I love all of these books.

The 3 main characters and the description of the area it occurs

I like the Tony Hillman stories and setting in his series. The characters are enjoyable and very human characters.

Sharply crafted exceptional Hilkerman book

One of Hilkerman’s best—clear plot line, well developed and growing character relationships, expertly woven role of Southwestern geography and Navajo way, great intersections of different indigenous tribal groups, differing law enforcement agents, and individuals within the story.

A decent Hillerman book

Not a stand out book in the series but no bad either. Good to see the Chee and Manolito characters grow a bit. The reader was excellent.

Great Read

Tony Hillerman at his finest. Interesting characters, plot, circumstances. Weaving of Leaphorn’s retirement and Jim Chee’s personal and professional situations is well done. Only problem: I could have used at least another hour.

Love the Lore

I enjoyed the story and the connection with Officer Manualito!! The saga continues and I enjoy all of the stories!

Can't stop listening till the end

Rich characters, good plot. entertaining. Three different stories, Joe Leaphorm, Jim Cheese, and Bernadette Manuelito, three stories blended into one engaging plot. Leaves you searching for the next book as soon as possible.

Losing yourself in a story

I love the atmosphere created by Mr. Hillerman. I feel as though I’m right there with these people I’ve grown to admire and can’t wait to hear more of their stories.
