It was looking like Lady Luck had quite a grudge against him. In fact, at this point merely crashing the multi-billion-dollar ship he had helped design would have felt like winning the lottery compared to his current dilemma. If only he were so lucky. Things had started off all right - that is, until a freak wormhole unexpectedly swallowed his ship, leaving him stranded on an unknown planet far, far from home.

It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. Story
In the 20th century Earth sent probes, transmissions, and welcoming messages to the stars. Unfortunately, someone noticed. The Galactics arrived with their battle fleet in 2052. Rather than being exterminated under a barrage of hell-burners, Earth joined their vast Empire. Swearing allegiance to our distant alien overlords wasn't the only requirement for survival. We also had to have something of value to trade, something that neighboring planets would pay their hard-earned credits to buy. As most of the local worlds were too civilized to have a proper army, the only valuable service Earth could provide came in the form of soldiers....

When Van Tudor returns to his childhood home, he inherits more than the family farm. His grandfather used to tell him fantastic stories of spacemen and monsters, princesses and galactic knights. Little did Van realize, the old man's tales were more than fiction; they were real. Hidden beneath the old barn, Van’s legacy is waiting: a starship, not of this world. With his combat AI, an android bird named Perry, Van takes his first steps into the wider galaxy. He soon finds that space is far busier and more dangerous than he could have ever conceived.

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Revenge. Hot or cold, it was about to be served by a professional.
And this one had a bone to pick.
Hozark may have survived countless attempts on not only his own life but the lives of his friends and colleagues, but it had come at a cost. And while he may have miraculously walked away from certain death on more than one occasion, the master assassin was not one to forget. And sooner or later, everyone’s time would come.

Didn’t want it to end! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was the final, action-packed chapter in the five-book Space Assassins series and boy was it everything I’d hoped it would be.
Hozark and the gang are closing in on their goal—to find a most powerful Visla—and when they do, well, let’s just say they don’t see it coming!
Scott Baron takes us on yet another wild ride, teeming with magic, treachery, and revenge. His writing is easy to follow, and the characters are well developed and relatable. This book did an excellent job of tying in all the loose ends.
Eric Bryan Moore is a superb narrator in my opinion. He does a fantastic job breathing (believable) life into the myriad of characters throughout the entire series. I can’t picture Hozark sounding any other way.
Honestly, I’m sad to see this series end. I enjoyed every hour of these books and will likely re-listen to them in the future (yup, they’re that good). However, one saving grace is that Scott Baron has written loads of books that take place in this same universe/world of his—i.e. the Dragon Mage series, Clockwork Chimera. I have already been ensconced in the Dragon Mage series and love those. I highly recommend them to any fans of the Space Assassins series.
Do yourself a favor and go pick this series up, now! You won’t be disappointed!

Wrapped It Up Nicely
There’s always something satisfying about finishing a series, well there is when you have an author as good as Scott Baron writing it. He’s able to tie things up in a nice way without making it feel completely over. Of course, this isn’t the first, or even second story that’s taken place in this world – so you can tell that Baron knows that he built a great world that is easy to expand on. But, in Hozark’s Revenge you get that nice ribbon on top of the story finish without feeling like you may never see the world again. I don’t know if he has any plans on writing more in this world, but he definitely could.
It’s really difficult to write a review of a book 5 in a series without spoiling anything, but I’m going to try. Just like the other books in this series, Hozark’s Revenge continues the story and adds to it. The world building is still here and the character building is obviously in play – even five books deep. Baron is able to continue the story in an interesting and unique way without making it feel old and tired, or even worse, repetitive.
In a finale book, lots of things jump out at you as you read it, especially because in a Baron series – there are a lot of loose ends being tied up. Because of that, there wasn’t a single or easy to point to “when this happened” to write about, just know that if you’ve read this series up until now, you’ll be extremely satisfied with how Baron wraps things up.
Overall, another great story in this series and in this universe. Baron did it again, and I can’t wait to see what he has planned next.

Fantastic Interconnected Worlds
I just have to say, wow. This is by far at the top of my favorite series! The way the book it written does a fantastic job at creating indepth and crwative worlds as well as paints the picture of many different races. The story flows very well with many ups and downs and twists when you dont expect it! There is also very good character development that is noticeable as well as hints to potential future situations! My favorite part it the worlds of each of the series written by Scott are yet again brought together and it makes me extremely happy with the world being built more and more throughout different times. These series have been fantastic and I do hope for more! Thanks for this!
