Re the IMPORTANT part: this audio is presented in Interview format with Greg Sherwood as Host and Gregg Braden as Guest.
I believe this content to be more relevant than ever: While this particular audio was released in Nov2024, it references Braden’s upcoming release of his book The Turning Point (expanded content) which audible made available on January 28, 2014. Looks like Braden and Hay House’s summit were way ahead of society in recognizing a changed world and the need for resilience.
My Highlights:
>Science provides knowledge but the wisdom to use it comes from inside us.
>The latest research and tools are showing Cooperation is the fundamental rule of nature, not separation - the conflict and competition that we have been taught the past 150 years. It can happen but is not the rule.
>Nothing is random. We are all deeply connected in a dynamic, evolving world. An example is the old meme that we are victims of our DNA that we inherit. Epigenetics has proven that Thoughts, Feelings, Emotions, and Beliefs change the chemistry of our brains and bodies. (Neuroplasticity describes the flexibility of the brain to adapt. Many life forms exchange DNA to survive and evolve.)
>We see many breakdowns of science and society because their fundamentals were based on the false assumption of separateness. We are now seeing more extremes in climate, economics, society, religious ideas and bias, wealth and poverty…..
>No one told us the world of the past is gone. There was no special on CNN World or BBC. We have to recognize the change and mourn and move on. (No doubt the world went through this process post World Wars.) Holding onto the past is where the struggle and suffering comes in.
>Mourning the old frees up the space to let it go so the new can come in. It’s a process, not an event. This can promote the Resilience to return to healthy functioning.
>We have the knowledge and technology to move forward in a healthy, sustainable way and need to create the mindset, the vision and determination to go with.
Braden opened, but I’m going to end, with his favorite Khalil Gibran quote first heard in childhood: ‘Work is our love made visible’
(His ending quote by Buckminster Fuller is particularly relevant.)
Listen, read. This is worth your time and money.
IMBBT p.s. It’s still only 1 of the ‘5 Love Languages’ - look it up. Keep learning. Keep growing. Aim to live your best life that best serves this miraculous world.
