Publisher's summary

That there is a source of permanent and pure happiness that is accessible to us all: that is the eternal promise of spiritual enlightenment. This audiobook offers an innovative, rational, and realistic approach to enlightenment that explains why it is possible and how to achieve it. Its findings are based on a successful 20-year spiritual search and a study of eastern mysticism as it relates to many other disciplines. It argues that enlightenment involves both the mystical search and, crucially, the intellectual and emotional preparation for it.

As a result, it offers an approach to spiritual truth that is comprehensive and unique. Unlike many other spiritual systems, it encourages critical thinking and explains enlightenment within a persuasive philosophical framework. It suggests the necessity of being honest about our own desires and finding the messages inherent in negative emotions, and it offers powerful new methods to accomplish this. Finally, it gives excellent, concise explanations of the self-inquiry techniques of Hindu mystics that are the royal road to enlightenment. Together, these form a powerful and unusual instrument for seeking the truth.

One of the best enlightenment books

Honestly great audio book on self-inquiry. Answers so many questions. The narration is good.
The material requires "digestion" so I listened to it on 0.7 x speed. I needed a slower reading to take it in.
Highly recommend. Below is my Amazon review of the e-book.

I've read many books on enlightenment, both Buddhist and Hindu and this is one of the best because it has such good explanation of what enlightenment is, what it will do for "you," what questions/mysteries it doesn't answer, how important it is to understand all your desires if you really want to do this, how to gain enlightenment, and even a little bit about what comes after enlightenment - as there is still more road to travel towards integration.
There are multiple analogies offered to help understand all of this.
It's very concise too which I love.
I've been reading about this for many years and this one really helped a lightbulb turn on for me in terms of understanding the thing that is essentially impossible to describe.

Every step brings us closer to realization. This book offers many of those steps.
If you are someone who has lots of questions, this may help you find some answers.

Explaining the Unexplainable Without the Fluff

Precise. To the point. Sans all of the obfuscation that pervades this subject. Read it.
