couldn't finish it

couldn't finish it. this is the only book narrated by Dara Rosenberg that I could not finish. I love her voice. so I'm guessing it is just the story. I could not follow it. I found myself relaxing I'd just missed and entire chapter and have to start again.

PSYCOLOGICAL MYSTERY SET IN HUMAN/ MAGIC COMMUNITY

l found this story and the characters interesting and l am happy l listened. Maybe those not happy with the book expected a magic user along the lines of the magic school characters, This is definatly not like that at all, just so you know. lt is a psycological mystery about an ancient being, her obsession and also meanwhile the magical community is fighting for dominance. Recommended for the enquiring mind that likes mysteries and a good plot.

Extended series

This series of How to Be a Badass Detective follows How to be a Badass Witch. I missed Stephanie becoming a witch, but it was implied earlier. I felt there were a few areas that could have been expounded on, such as exactly how did they determine where the enemy was. Te battle was short. But the characters were the same and it was pretty good easy listening.

this isn't a first book for a series

I'm sorry but this isn't a first book. It references events that happened before it and there's a lot of names but not much about them but I got the feeling these characters were all flashed out in other books. I'm just guessing about that though. unfortunately, this is the only book by this author I've read so I was totally lost. I couldn't get into the story and didn't like anyone except Adzuko I think his name is.

if you've never read anything else by this author, don't start here or you'll be as lost as I was. Start with another series. the narrator was good and I enjoyed her performance. so it wasn't her. I just needed more context. this book has a lot of meetings but they just went over my head because all the characters were just names with dialogue tags.
