In the bosom of Happy Valley, Utah, Keira Shae and her family weren't like everybody else. Their home was filthy, their mother was absent, and their cupboards were bare.

What began as a disadvantaged existence quickly crumbled as Keira and her siblings grew up under the terror, abuse, and drug culture that their mother brought into the home.

The only thing more incredible than their story of survival are the powers that transformed Keira's fears into love, kindness, and resilience.

The struggle, the passion, the heartfelt words... truly a great story of an amazing woman. ~Blake

I love memoirs, especially ones with "happy endings". Memoirs where someone perseveres through unimaginable hurdles are the best, because they are inspiring and TRUE.
This particular story gave a completely honest, moment by moment take of what the author's life growing up in poverty and abuse. My mother grew up in a similar manner, also with a cruel and abusive mother. She too has her own "happy ending" and this story was very insightful.
I especially love how the author did not hold back. I am sure some may think it could have been lightened up, but the raw ugly TRUTH is refreshing and important to hear.... also important to tell, as it was. Thank you

Excellent Insight into a Childhood most of us can't imagine
