Publisher's Summary

Acid reflux is by far the most widespread gastrointestinal disorder. To put it in perspective, the US alone spends more than $10B on reflux medications annually. Given the prevalence of medications, you might wonder why WebMD reports the disease has increased +50 percent over the last decade and the National Cancer Institute shares throat cancer is +850 percent since 1975.

You may wonder why mainstream medical approaches, which you might think would be the best cure for acid reflux, have not helped you address your acid reflux or GERD. The startling answer to both of these questions is explored in this book.

Feeling dissatisfied with mainstream medical advice, many turn to the internet. Sadly, the myriad sources do not focus on explaining or addressing the root causes of acid reflux, leaving you to suffer the many symptoms alone:

  1. Sleep disturbance - breathing difficulty, choking, coughing
  2. Social challenges - hoarseness, clearing throat, belching
  3. Health issues - pain, mucus, lump in throat, difficulty swallowing
  4. Food/drink Issues - regurgitation, indigestion, eating problems
  5. Emotional distress - anxiety, stress, apathy

In contrast, all conclusions and recommendations in this book are discussed in simple terms and backed by hundreds of hours studying medical research. Furthermore, they are personally tested by the author, who prior to applying the methods in this book, suffered acid reflux for over 15 years. The book is centered on a three-phase transition plan:

  1. Revise (2 weeks) - establish your baseline
  2. Restore (4 to 6 weeks) - address root causes
  3. Renew (2+ weeks) - return to normal

Discover the complete solution to understanding and healing. Take your first step toward addressing the true root causes of your reflux. Before you know it, you could be back to enjoying life free of the many health, social, and emotional issues brought on by this terrible disease.

Must Read

I received more information from this book than speaking with my Gastroenterologist! I've expressed symptoms to him that even he wasn't aware of (go figure) but they are all listed in this book! I'm not crazy after all! If you are suffering from reflux this is a MUST READ
I have another condition but am willing to give this protocol a try, and why not? I've taken the medications with little to no relief now left still dealing with GERD and the nasty little side-effects that come along with taking Proton-pump inhibitors. It's refreshing to know that with the right information, dedication, and God healing is possible.

hopeful advice

I am just starting on this new journey. so I can't tell you if it's going to work for me. but I do wish the author didn't put so much emphasis on mucus discharge because that isn't my issue . So I can't relate to it.

My primary problem is stomach pain, probably because of gallbladder but probably result of many years of GERD and ppis.

I would like more help on how to talk to the doctors, many doctors. They all dismissed me with the gerd issue and I don't know how to get past their preconceived notions of what my problem is.

PS: when you have to give up salsa what else makes food taste good?

Just what I needed!

I have been trying to find a way to treat my LPR without ppis or any prescriptions because I know they have bad side effects! I had already been researching online but it wasn't really clear exactly what I needed to do. Now I know exactly which direction I am going to go in! Thanks! :-)

Very informative

Everything he says makes so much sense. Very relatable and now that it’s explained, makes the meds seem counter to my needs. Hoping this will work.

Yes, but be careful

This is a very comprehensive explanation of the causes and symptoms of acid reflux.
PPIs helped me after I had a very bad flare up recently.
I believe that COVID wrecked my gut.
My doctor suggested we try stopping PPIs because of long term affects.
I totally agree that the key is restoring the micro biome.
I would be nervous about adding HCL on your own however.
Work with a healthcare provider on this part.
I am now focusing on probiotics. I think it is working.
Very good book. Thanks.

This has helped me turn the corner

I was in a bad place when I listened to this quite a few weeks ago, taking large doses of omeprazole, then having side effects and stopping, barely able to eat, losing weight, despite having consulted family doctor I was getting nowhere. Since then I have been inspired to follow carefully the advice (although not having been on PPI in the long term didn't need much HCL but did everything else.) I am now turning the corner and using the prebiotics and careful diet , not taking any PPI's whatsoever. I had been using Gaviscon for a while when symptoms were bad but now I feel much more confident that if I continue I will soon be better, and now only taking Gaviscon once every few days, if needed. In fact I ran out over the Bank Holiday and not panicking at all. This story has also inspired me to listen to some very good podcasts by functional doctors, and natural health practitioners, and the good thing is that the advice is , in general, the same. If you know that there isn't a quick fix and that everyone has to find their own optimum plan based on these guidelines, you are empowered to persevere and give your life an overhaul.

Disappointing listen with risky diet advice

I wish this had been helpful. There are better sources of medically useful information. Eating vinegar and dairy with silent reflux? No.
