Absolute Gem

This book had me intrigued right from the start. And just when you think you know where the plot is going, you turn the page and surprise! A really great book and story line. Left me thinking of it well after it was finished. Can’t wait for the sequel.

Enjoyed every second

I picked up Crescent City with some curiosity, being a fan of Sarah J. Maas's TOG and ACORAR series. After recently rereading those, I was eager to see what else Maas had written, and Crescent City didn't disappoint. It held its own with surprising plot twists, endearing and not-so-endearing creatures, impressive character development and romance, all set against an intriguing world. Admittedly, diving into this new universe felt a bit overwhelming initially, given the intricate world-building and unfamiliar concepts. However, a few chapters into the book, things began falling into place. Now, I'm eagerly looking forward to starting the next installment in this series.

Without a doubt the best book I’ve ever read!!

Would 100% recommend! It’s beautifully written and filled with drama, action, slow burn, found family, sisterhood, love after grief (and a little bit of spice 🔥, more spice than ACOTAR 1 but way less than book 2).

I started getting into reading Romantasy books a couple months ago. I had read ACOTAR before this and as much I adore that series. This book is without a doubt brilliant and far more thrilling! The middle did slow down a bit but I still loved every minute of it. The last three hours (about 20 chapters or so) were so packed with plot twists and tear shedding moments I could not put it down! The amount of action and drama and shear brilliance in the last part of the book far exceeded my expectations! I never write reviews but after finishing this book today I felt very compelled to! The amount of things at the end of this book is far more than any other Romantasy books I’ve read. I was expecting one of the plot twists or dramas to be the main event but it just kept going! So emotionally thrilling it had me hysterically weeping when I was listening to it on my drive to work (I do have a tendency to cry at books but never this much). The last book I sobbed at was the ending of the first ACOTAR book but this book had me hysterically crying for the last 3 hours of listening to it. I’m also usually quite good at knowing plot twists and what’s going to happen next and while a few things were obvious to me (due to pattern recognition) I DID NOT guess any of the major plot twists and action and drama that happened at the end which had me audibly gasping! It’s such a brilliant read, you will not regret it!!

Satisfying

This has been one of the best books I have had the pleasure to listen to in ages. There is something for everyone. The narrator is my favorite to date.

This book is brilliant, and the audible recording of the story kept me utterly captivated the entire time I was listening. The narrator did an amazing job of bringing the characters to life.

I have read all SJ Maas books and I think this one is the best! I love the characters and the story was captivating. Thank you for sharing your stories SJ Maas.

Long build up, the ending is worth the read.

Loved all the plot twists within plot twists. It took very long to get invested into the book as it’s. Slow burn build up of characters and world building and politics etc. but the last few chapters are amazing. Excited to read the next two.

A shining star in a sea of romantasy

My favourite of all of Sarah J Maas’s series, I have listened to this novel twice now and every time it never fails to disappoint. Brilliant story writing and world building with thoughtful prose.

None comes close to this masterpiece! Sarah 's best work yet! I am so sad that i finished it. It will be hard to read something as good as this again!
