Chase is woken up after getting home from an op. On the other side of the door was a woman he did not recognize. Who states she needs help. It turns out that she is his father's step daughter whom he did not like. She is in trouble and now needs help. He is not willing but after his home is blown up he has a change of mind. This is all because she acquired a thumb drive from a powerful man. Will they be able to get the information out to others before she is killed? Or worse? This had me listening till the end on Audible.

Captivating with Military precisness.

High energy, so many twists and turns, that these women characters really need defense driving classes before entering into these relationships. HOT HOT HOT, and sweaty.

unexpected 5 stars

I admit I wasn’t sure I’d like this one as well as the others because of the sibling aspect. I mean yeah they are not biologically related, but it was still strange at first. But these two reeled me in. I loved Sophie’s grit and determination. And man Chase is a charmer. Aiden Snow does such an incredible job voicing all the characters. He’a fast becoming a favorite narrator. This was my second audio in this series. Now I’m gonna have to get the rest because I can’t imagine not hearing his voice portray these guys.

Steamy and sexy

Lynn Raye Harris does a great job of combining action with steamy and sexy romance in all of her books in this series. She is great at writing a balance that keeps things exciting, and not just in the bedroom! Neither the action or the romance gets in the way of the other in this story and instead complement each other. Hot Protector takes on a popular romance trope of late, falling in love with your Stepbrother. I'm not gonna lie, I'm still not a fan, but I did at least find it believable in this case. Chase and Sophie never felt like they were related and I never got the creepy feeling I often do when reading these types of stories. Instead, I felt the heat and attraction between them and it never felt like they were doing something wrong or forbidden. If like me, you do not like this particular type of story, I still recommend listening. I both read and listened to this book, and Aiden's narration really does enhance this already great story. If you like books with a mix of action and romance, this is definitely the book for you.
