Story
There are a couple of reasons I shouldn't crush on Zach Stauff. 1. He's my big brother's best friend. 2. He's my roommate 3. He's straight. None of those things matter when I'm around him, and my heart starts beating like crazy. He's been the star of my wet dreams since forever, but to him, I'm just the kid who used to eat mudcakes. That is, until he walks in on me playing with a cucumber - without my clothes on. Worse, I was on camera streaming to an online audience when he witnessed the "cucumber incident".

What do you do when you wake up with a hangover and find yourself in bed with your best friend's younger brother? Who happens to be your new brother-in-law? The man who drives you crazy. The man who always skated by on fast-talk, good looks, and a bright smile. The one who makes you want to break all the rules. You hire him as your assistant, of course. And pray you can keep your sanity. And your hands off him.

Story
Five years ago, I walked away from Sunbury, Oregon, and left my best friend behind. The move was supposed to get my life on track. I even had a list: Life changing epilepsy surgery. Check. See the world. Check. Get over my straight best friend... Not exactly. No matter where I go or who I meet, I can't let Tanner go. I'm back to tell him how I feel. To get the closure I need once and for all. Only now I'm here and falling for him all over again, it's getting harder to say the words. Because once I have my closure, I'll be gone. And this time it will be for good.

"Look out for Zach, and don't hit on him." My brother's request sounds easy enough. Keep an eye out for his best friend on campus and keep my hands to myself. Easy. Even if Zach is a quintessential nerd, who I've always thought was cute, I don't have the time to think with my...stick. There's only one stick I should be focused on this year, and that's my hockey stick. My goal once I graduate is to get an NHL contract. The last thing I need is a distraction. On or off the ice. Only, keeping to the rules is harder than I thought it would be.

Recently-divorced Joel is finally living as a gay man, but he’s not sure he’s ready to jump into a relationship. That doesn’t stop him from noticing his new contractor’s muscular build, hewn from hard, physical work, or his storm-colored eyes. The icing on the cake? There’s more to Finn than good looks. Maybe he’s the perfect guy to share long walks on the beach and warm nights in front of a fire. But it’s been 20 years since Joel was with a man. While he’s not forgotten how to flirt, he’s nervous about making a move. Especially with Finn.

There are bad ideas and there are good bad ideas. My former fiancé banging a nanny - that was a bad idea. A good girl having her first ever one-night stand with the hot former bad boy she just met after being dumped? Bad idea. When I find out that the nanny's ex-boyfriend is looking for revenge, I should run - far away. But I don’t...because rebounding with Vince is the most awesome bad idea ever. Do I want to help him get back at our exes in this way? Oh. Hell. Yes. I want him to get back at my ex hard. With wild abandon. All night long.

My love story all started with a letter. Only it wasn’t from the man I’d eventually fall in love with. It was from his daughter. A sweet little girl named Birdie Maxwell who’d written to the magazine that I worked for. You see, once a year my employer fulfilled a few wishes for readers. Only that column didn’t start up again for months. So I fulfilled some of her wishes myself. It was harmless…so I thought. Until one day I took things too far. While anonymously granting yet another of Birdie’s wishes, I got a look at her father.

Being a hit man has its perks, but I never thought getting an accidental mooning by an attractive PI while he’s caught on a fence would be one of them. While it’s not exactly love at first sight, he’s captured my interest and won’t let go. Suddenly, I find myself caught in a game of cat and mouse, determined to attract the attention of Jackson, the PI who should be my enemy. He pretends like he’s not flattered by my flowers and the mentions of my totally-not-fictitious blow-up doll, Randy (or was it Dandy?), but I know better.

It's review time 🎧
Warning ⚠️: mm romance, comedy, virgin, sweetness overloaded, second book in a series, standalone.
Narrator score🎧 ; John is a wonderful narrator i loved his work and it was very good as always.
Level of steam🔥: well, it was a slow burn , a funny one and I totally loved it.
Level of anxiety and sadness0😱😢: the book wasn't sad, yeah you had that not so bright father in the story. But that's that. The story was sweet, funny, and adorable.
The book itself📖: its a second book in a series, it is a full on standalone so don't worry if you hadn't listen to the first book, (thought the first book is as good as that one)
I loved the characters in that one, they were easy going as was the story. And I love the aunt she is sweetly creepy and endearing.
I just loved everything about the book.

Great follow-up book
This book is the story of Oliver, the cousin of Ben whom we met in book one of the series, and Wesley, manwhore extraordinaire. Oliver needs Wesley’s help with a problem but little does he know Wesley has sworn off sex for 30 days. Ms. Byrde writes with great humor and compassion. Her characters are well written and well rounded. I like that some characters from book one followed to book 2. The book has good pacing and reads quickly. This book can be read as a stand-alone without any issues.
The narrator was very enjoyable and seemed to really fit the material

Woke My Husband Up Laughing (so good)
Fake the Date was so much fun, but I am in love with Wes and Oliver. It gave me how to lose a guy in 10 days vibes, but SO much better! I made the mistake of starting this while I was trying to fall asleep. Brakes to say I got no sleep and actually woke my husband up because I couldn’t laugh quiet enough.
The opposing motives make for hilarious times and I could not stop laughing. There was a great balance of emotion and humor with just enough heat. Definitely need to check it out if for no other reason than John Solo being amazing!

Loved this story!!
Oliver want to lose his virginity. He makes a New Years resolution, he gives himself a month do lose his v card. Wesley does not have luck when it comes to relationships. Wes’s roommate makes a bet with him, date someone but you can have sex with them until after a month.
Oliver is in line to take over the family business. At Christmas his father gives him their family heirloom, the Golden TP. But he knows if his family finds out he’s gay he can kiss that future goodbye.
Wes and Oliver begin dating. Oliver’s goal, have sex, Wes’s goal not to have sex. But they end up getting more than they bargained for. Their relationship is really sweet. They are perfect for each other. One side character that I loved, aunt Rosie! She is my spirit animal!
John Solo is great as usual!!

John Solo's performance brings so much life into this adorable, feel good story. The different voices for characters truly adds the extra zing.
This well crafted story is filled with laugh out loud humor. Both main characters, Wesley and Oliver, were well developed. I look forward to seeing some of the secondary characters again (Aunt Rose).

extraordinarily humorous
I read this and fell in love, then I listened to it and totally lost my heart and soul! OMG! I'm totally dead and my sides are aching from laughing so much. Full on belly laughs, snorts, and tears in my eyes. I haven't laughed so much since "Fake the Date." Aunt Rosie delivers again in this fun fest. Lol. Oliver's mom and the pies, best of all shared with prejudiced dad. Love a supportive mama bear. There is never a dull moment and the laughs never stop!! This left me with an overwhelming feeling of joy, and I highly recommend it. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. John does a brilliant job of bringing the characters and storyline to life. Amazing!!

Fish in the Water
Oliver is a fish out of water but as they move through the story he finally finds the water he needs to move forward with his life. It is sad but realistic that sometimes family won't accept your truth but it is also true that there are others there to fill in those gaps. Wesley is on his growth journey that almost makes them at cross purposes at first but it all gets turned around the right way. This story has some drama but is also full of lots of fun moments.
I really enjoyed the the audio version of this story.

Catching Mr. Right
Hook, Line, and Sinker is the second book in the #LoveWins series, but it can easily be read as a standalone. Like the first book in the series, this book was full of humor, sassiness, and tenderness – all of this mixed together so well to create a wonderful romance that had me laughing and smiling the entire time. The chemistry between Oliver and Wesley was electric, and it definitely added to the humor of book. The audiobook was narrated by John Solo who does a fabulous job. John performs the book with just the right amount of energy and drama to bring it alive without overdoing it. All in all, this was a fun book that left a smile on my face.

Sweet and funny
After “Fake the date” I was very excited about this story and I was not disappointed.
It was fun to follow Wesley and Oliver’s development. The meeting of the two is not under a good star. After Wesley’s recent relationships have not gone so well, Wes decides that nothing sexual will happen in his next relationship for the first month. Oliver, on the other hand, wants to lose his virginity as quickly as possible, but at the same time his family cannot know that he is gay. Wes and Oliver are great characters.
"Hook, line & sinker” is a sweet story about coming out and self-esteem. And there wasn’t just one place I had to laugh. I love Aunt Rosie!
John Solo reads very well as always and brings the characters to life.
I highly recommend this audiobook!

Pretty good in this book, The premise of this book is intriguing. The follow through was not disappointing. I found myself chuckling many times. Oliver’s mom is my new hero. Her pie scene had me trying to cover a laugh, while listening in bed, late at night. I enjoyed this story and felt the mcs had great chemistry.
John Solo did a good job with the narration. He is great at bringing life to the stories he narrates, and this one was no different.

Brill
This is a brilliant fun book I laughed when Oliver and Wesley saw each but they both had New Years resolutions which are the complete opposite of each other. They have hurdles to overcome with coming out and vindictive ex’s. The narrator did a wonderful job bringing the characters to life.

RomCom At It's Best
The story line was well developed as well as the characters' story.
Oliver a college student wants a someone to take his virginity before he graduates, preferably male, although his parents doesn't know he is gay. He has a crush on Wesley, who's on the swim team.
Wesley is know to be loose, he sleeps around a lot with both men and women, but he wants to change is persona. No hooking up for a month. When he started going on on dates with Oliver it became a struggle to keep to his decision.
It made me feel as though I was right there seeing everything unfold. This book is down pack with hilariousness that keeps you laughing all the time, especially the secondary characters... Love their antics.
At one point I just wanted to strangle Oliver's father, he just didn't know when to shut up. the boat scene was perfect at that point in time.
The side characters was a great addition to the story. Aunt Rosie as always did her thing. She's tenacious, always a support for her nephews. I like how she comes up with ideas that turn into money makers, although the things she does are more hilarious. The gifts she left for Oliver, her new creation of speedos with buttons on the front ... wow .. I like the idea of having to opening the front for easy access... I need to get me some of those...LOL
I laughed so much when Oliver's mother threw the pie in her husband's face.. he deserved that..
Thank you Ana Byrde for giving us Oliver and Wesley's story and thank you John Solo for giving these characters a voice.
Will Zach get his story?

Great nervous virgin story.
Oliver wants to lose his virginity and he decides Wes is the right guy for the job. Too bad for him that Wes has accepted a bet with his roommate that he can go a month without sex.
This was such a cute story. Oliver and Wes dance around each other quite a bit until they finally come clean with each other. There were a few sad places when Oliver finally comes out to his family but there were also many funny spots. I loved Oliver’s Aunt and the sexy gifts she left for him.
John Solo did his always fantastic job performing this story. He is one of the reasons that I love audiobooks so much. 🥰
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

Cute
This was such a stinking cute story. School romances are great. Oliver and Wes were adorable. I loved listening to their awkward courting style. Like always John gives a magnificent performance.
