Publisher's Summary

I can do this....

Gabrielle, an "at-risk" young lady coming from a poor neighborhood in New York City, finished her college degree last semester. She was working for peanuts at the time when a better job came through, requiring her to move 200 miles away from home to Boston to work for a new startup.

A blessing in disguise....

Mentally and physically drained from the urban nuisances, she braced herself to take advantage of this newfound opportunity, hoping to officially launch her working career. She didn't know that the history of bias and xenophobia in Boston may test the patience and perseverance of this young African American. But Gabrielle would be willing to risk it all for a better lifestyle.

First day on the job and Gabrielle could lose her freedom after being charged with a crime that no one imagined could have taken place.

Awesome Author, Excellent Narrator

Well done Eric Reese!
It is really a job well done by this author. I just spent almost 4 dollars only and in such a low amount I've got a short but excellent story. I wish it would be long a bit. But in this price you must not miss this interesting story.

Well Worth Every Penny

Any additional comments?

This story made my day indeed. It is not a lengthy story but has something to enjoy really. The plot is impressive here. The characters are colorful and improved. I highly recommend this book.

Short but very interesting story.

Any additional comments?

This is an interesting short story of a girl. Actually, the author has chosen a sensitive topic and presented it really well. I enjoyed it.

It was a book

Well. I’m not sure how I got this book. I must have gotten it for free somewhere. Honestly, the only reason I got through it was because it was so short. Definitely far from of the genres I usually frequent, so take this review with a grain of salt. The narrator was unlikeable, but other than that, the story wasn’t the worst I’ve read by far.

I received a free copy of this book (I think) and am writing an honest review of my own volition.

Looking Forward to Book 2...

I had some concerns with a book being less than 1 hour. But, Eric Reese you surprised me. You brought it on and it was EXPLOSIVE! You gave me something that had me at a WOW!!! You made me greedy, wanting more. When it was over I was at a loss for words and I said to myself; "I can't wait to get to book 2." So, you did it! You made me want more.

The narrator Tiana Melvina Woods really poured her heart and soul into her visual storytelling. She gave it and she gave it good. This was my 1st opportunity to hear her and I'm glad I had the opportunity.

I do recommend this book to others, and I'm looking forward in Book 2, of finding out who did it, and how it all ends.

could have been one book

This book and the second one could have been made as one book. It just wasn't enough to really get into. To think she isn't going to make it you would think that it was huge problem but to me it was not that bad. maybe the title should be get over it girl.

Mystery

This is a short story murder mystery. Really short but good. I enjoyed it while it lasted, but needed to be longer.

Not bad

Not allowed a story I also don’t believe please officer would be so open with his investigation and all wrapped up very quickly. I do think the narrator today good job and has a nice voice.

underdeveloped and unfinished

This is the bones of an interesting story, but not yet fleshed out or filled in. Our protagonist is an African-American young woman who takes a job in Boston, only to find herself the only person of color in an entirely white company. She encounters subtle hostility, and then is implicated in the murder of her boss. One of the detectives on the case seems to have chemistry with her.

This is only 40 minutes long, and speeds through the story with little description and little character development. I really wish the author would have taken more care and time to build the story and make it a full novelization instead of an abbreviation.

Murder

On Gabrielle first day at work nothing goes right but to top it off her new boss winds up dead. Who killed him and why? I received this review audio book upon my request. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Lots of room for improvement

The storyline was lacking and did nothing to capture the listener's attention. Unfortunately won't be listening to book 2
