right to the point

This is an excellent summary of the results of the Korean War. Whilst it doesn't offer much in the style of insights into life in Korea at the period, it gives a clear, step by step account of the actual events of the war.

Best Summary

This survey includes all the roots of the Korean conflict: political, tactical, strategic, cultural, and does it well within an Osprey setup. It was a war fought on two levels. The deeper level was fought between the two Korean countries wanting to join their whole country under their political control.

Terrible pronunciation

The story was interesting and the tone of the readers voice is nice, but the pronunciation impacts the listeners understanding of the history. For example, Joseon is pronounced one way in one changer and then differently the next chapter, leading me to believe it’s two different countries. Reader should have practiced the pronunciation of names of people and cities.

Really enjoyed this history book

Good audiobook.

This audiobook included a lot of useful information in a simple to understand format. What a lousy bunch of politicians worldwide.

Insightfully fascinating

This audiobook shows much data that has helped me understand the Korean War. It gives information that is more comprehensive than any article on the subject. I would highly suggest it to anybody doing Level History or anyone involved in Asia.

Incredible guide

I'm planning to learn more about this subject and I would suggest this audiobook as it is a great idea to learn about a particular conflict without drowning you in huge amounts of facts and figures.

a nice introduction to Korean history

This was a nice overview/ introduction to Korean history. I am glad I heard it. I am not Korean so do not know if the names were pronounced accurately. But, as a non-Korean thought the reader did a great job. Overall it gave me an outline of Korean history.

Balanced and informative

I enjoyed this history of Korea. I learned a lot and thought that events of the 20th and 21st century were presented objectively.

I liked it.

This audiobook is a great start to the Korea War which sadly too many people don’t remember or know anything about. The idea of the future is to develop a new history that grows upon the past, not replicate the mistakes of our forefathers.
