I just found it much more entertaining and fun to listen to

This book here is more like an essay
While people who shaped China throws you into their lives

Anyway just my personal feeling
Different people have different tastes

Massive history... 3hrs. Incorrect pronunciation

Started off okay as far as content. Couldn't continue due to the incorrect pronunciation. I'm not listening to this just to hear a story - I want to be able to discuss it with actual Chinese people and reconcile it with the bits of Chinese history I already have in my head.

The history of China is complex.

The Captivating History author commences with some of the initial records of China starting before 1000 BC but rapidly gets into the period of warring states and the amalgamation and beginning of the Qin family. The author gives all the contextual needed to understand how later conflicts reference back to the early fights faced in China. The author gives the reader a brief picture of the world Confucius lived in and the philosophy he shaped that was perhaps the toughest current in Chinese government through its history.
