Publisher's Summary

Tempest

He’s rude, mean, and looks at me like he hates me. And I’ve only just stepped into his house. Spending a year of travelling through impoverished places, trying to help people, should make handling Sargent Wolf - yes, that’s his name - a piece of cake.

But even Maddox can’t deny that his father is an absolute douche. I’m only here for six months, maximum, before I get my arse back on the road.

I’ll just have to stay out of his way and never suggest that he let me draw him naked. No matter how badly I want to.

Sargent

If I’d known Maddox’s little pest was female, I’d never have agreed to let her stay. The last woman to sleep in my house was my ex-wife.

I can’t live with a woman again and deal with them spreading their things everywhere. Not to mention their scent, tampons, clothes, makeup, and weird reading material. She has to leave, even if it’s me who makes her. Though not at the expense of my son’s respect and love for me.

I can suffer her presence for a few months. I’ve dealt with worse. I just wish she’d wear a goddamn bra once in a while under her little white vests. I’m a tits man, and hers are completely off limits.

Tempest and Sargent

A father falls for son's female friend, Tempest. The father, Sargent, was really mean and rude to Tempest. Seemed like she could not do anything right to him. Sargent tries to resist Tempest but they eventually come together saying it would only happen that one time. Lies. This was a great story with some action and suspense. This is a new author for me but I will see what other stories from her are out there. Keira Stevens and Logan McAllister did a great job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Best Friend’s dad

“Pest” is going to stay with her best friend at his father’s house after a humanity/mission trip. Maddox’s father Sergeant has an instant dislike for pest and their relationship is rocky at best. Even though Sergeant hates pest he can’t fight the attraction he feels. The story takes a very weird turn. And a ton of new information comes out at the very end then it’s just kind of over. One this the story gets right is the sex.

The narration is really good.

Loved this

I absolutely loved this age gap romance! Tempest just came in and sweeped Sargent’s life upside down.

They both hide their attraction from Maddox but eventually all secrets gets revealed.

There were definitely some things that I didn’t see coming but I absolutely loved it!

I definitely recommend this book!

The narration was great!

This is my first book by A.E. Murphy. I love May/December books so I was excited to review this. I like the premise of Tempest falling for her best friend's father, and for grumpy set-in-his-ways Sargent to find love with a younger woman. Unfortunately, the execution could use some work. Tempest was a bit of a doormat. Sargent was a jerk and wasn't really redeemed in the book. This also felt like two different books. The first half was a nice take on "sex-only relationship turns into love" and then with no foundation there's bikers, Russian Mafia, FBI, etc. There was also this random stalker that appeared & disappeared with no explanation. The ending was incredibly abrupt as well. It felt like an HFN, not an HEA.

This is my first narration by Keira Stevens & second by Logan McAllister. Their narration is really what made this book enjoyable. Stevens' accents were so smooth that I have no idea which is her native language. McAllister also did an excellent job giving gruff Sargent a voice and his voice for Tempest was still enjoyable. I definitely look forward to hearing more of both of the in the future.

loved it

Sergeant Wolf struggled with his feelings for his son's friend,Tempest. but what was their real relationship? Was Maddox romantically involved with her? what would be the repercussions if he followed his lust for Tempest? Tempest is a free spirit, fun and sexy. He couldnt keep his mind off her. Would his son ever forgive him if he acted on his desire for her? This is a taboo romance at its best! Lust , desire, steamy sex, anger, betrayal, danger and love. Kiera Stevens and Logan McAllister tell the story with such emotion, you get all the feels, love, anger, flirting, and heartbreak.

Opinion is still getting formulated

If I am honest I didn't love this one I've read this author and loved other books, but this just fell a bit short, personally it was not as Taboo as it was advertised. *slight spoilers ahead*

This was an older man younger woman at least she was not a naive girl seduced, she had a past survived. at most as a couple they jump over the hurdle of a man used to bachelors ways, no over drawn drama either, form your own opinion mine is a simple good story but needed something either drama, or action not just the inner monologues of the eternal batchelor.

Exciting

Love when I find a new author and narration. At the beginning when Maddox and Tempest come home I thought this was going to be all about a father and lusting after his sons girlfriend but it was much more. Very well written in-depth story.

Age Gap Romance

I actually liked the story; it's different with some dark elements. You just have to be in the right mind-set before listing to it. The storyline is well delivered and definitely for those who enjoy dark romance. I was intrigued by Sargent Maddox 's character; he is a hard man, complex, and intense. Tempest (Pest) is the opposite; she is a free-spirited, fun, and easy-going younger woman. The age gap and the fact the Sargent is Pest's friend's father adds the element of taboo to their story. Towards the end of the book, certain decisions are made, even now I'm not sure how to feel about it.

A.E. Murphy's writing is well-paced, clear, and precise. Both Keira Stevens and Logan McAllister did an excellent job with the narration; their performance added to the story.

A Steamy Taboo Romance

I loved this Taboo romance from A.E Murphy, The Narrators were perfect for the roles of Tempest, Maddox and Sargent and kept me thoroughly engaged and invested in their story. For me the novel had depth, an angsty, gripping plot and the push and pull was so good. The sexual tension between the main characters built perfectly with the skilled Narration by Kiera and Logan adding so much to the audiobook, crafting the tension and the drama as the book came to it's plot peak. Absolutely a book I would recommend to fans of Taboo Romance or anyone looking for something a little different.

His Father

I enjoyed listening to the narrators Keira Stevens and Logan McAllister, A narrator can make or break an audible book, and they made it.

Spoiler if you don't like age difference love stories , then this is not for you. If you like a love story then this is perfect.
Older dad meets his son's girlfriend , does his best not feel jealousy and wanting her. Tempest, meets Maddox and he invites her to stay with him and his father the Sargent .

Sit back and enjoy

ok

I felt the narrator did a great job with what storyline she had. I wasn't a fan of his excuse of 'i had to do it'. I normally like taboo subjects but felt this missed the mark slightly. Verbally abusive and lack or remorse. The writing style was fine i felt the plot has holes and needs more work on.

His Father

While I liked the storyline and the potential of where it could have gone, there was a lot of the story that contradicted itself, and the ending was a bit anticlimactic. The "taboo" nature of the story drew me in to begin with, and there was a lot going on that didn't really have a place in the story it felt like extra fluff. The narration by Keira Stevens and Logan McAllister was very well done, and I believe carried the story through the parts that I would have quit the book had I been reading and not listening.

This is a really good story!

I really liked this story, and I was kinda surprised to be honest. I wasn’t sure, at first, that I would, because of the subject. I liked it a lot!!!

Sargent makes himself out to be a grumpy old man... in his 40’s. Tempest is his son, Maddox’s, best friend, and she is staying with them so that she can prepare to go on another trip to help others who don’t have what she has.

What will Maddox think if she’s attracted to his father? Can crusty Sargent really have a relationship with anyone? And what happens when Maddox discovers something he shouldn’t?

I enjoyed this story very much, and would recommend it. A.E. Murphy wrote a good story about characters that are likable and interesting.

Kiera Stevens and Logan McAllister were excellent in these roles!

His Father

His Father was an interesting age gap romance between Tempest and Sargent. There was danger and suspense mixed with steamy sex and several twists and turns. Sargent wasn't overly likable so I think Tempest would have been better off with Maddox who was her best friend and Sargent's son but then it would have been a totally different story. Keira Stevens and Logan McAllister both did a great job bringing this story to life.

good story

this was the first audio that I've actually finished so that in it's own means it was better than I've listened to before...

I absolutely loved the story just when you think your into a taboo romance etc boom all hell breaks loose guns are everywhere death is everywhere and heartbreak is inevitable.

I will admit it took me a while to get into the narration but once I was used to it I loved it , a brilliant gripping edge of your seat read.

Mesmerising male narrator

This was my first read by A E Murphy so I wasn't sure what to expect.

I found it easy to get into, being introduced immediately to two of the main characters, Tempest (Pest) and Maddox (Mads). They're just back from doing aid work overseas and staying with Mads father, Sargeant - a bit of a woman hater it seemed and I did wonder why! But it came to light further into the story.

I have to admit, I didn't like Sargeant to begin with - I thought he was a bit of a tosser! Pest and Maddox's relationship was a little confusing - although friends, they seemed more like lovers. To other characters in the book too. But the sexual tension between Pest and Sargeant was seeping from the pages too...

It was a bit of a rollercoaster - the tension finally exploded, then everything was going great, then something dramatic happened (which seemed a bit out of place), then everyone didn't like each other again, and then they did.

The writing was effective and quite deep at points - and the banter between characters had a few laughs out of me. The sex scenes were especially hot! Murphy managed to make me come around to liking Sergeant in the end, and most of the characters were likeable too. Overall, an enjoyable read.

AUDIO

The narrators really made the story come to life, and I was mesmerized by Sergeant's "voice". I'm not sure if the female narrator is American or British, but if the former then her British accent was quite good. They both managed to make the opposite sex characters analogue distinguishable too, and used lots of emotion in narration.
