A great highland read!

This was a great Highland romance!
When you finish this book, you’ll want to read more from this author.
The hero was strong and loving, our heroine could take care of herself, but would also soften to the touch and protection that her laird so willingly offered.
At times it seemed like the villain popped up and disappeared like a prairie dog, only to scamper off into a convenient hiding spot. But whatever, these books aren’t meant to be totally plausible.
I really liked the heroines sense of independence, The fact that she lived in a cottage separate from the main keep added an element of danger, because she could only rely on herself, then had to accept the Hero’s aid.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a fast paced good old Highland romance. The action goes right up until the end of the book, which I love! I have found some other books make their crescendo 3/4 of the way through, and then they fall flat after, making it a challenge to trudge through until the end.
Happy Reading!

LOVED THIS STORY...

Loved this story and all the characters. I laughed at the banter and the story flowed easily. Rosalyn Landor, as usual, is brilliant on doing male voices and her Scottish brogue is perfect.

I totally recommend this book and also the one before it. Steamy and funny... can't wait for the next one. Come on Alyson McLayne...write fast!! LOL

A great new author for me.

Alyson McLayne really is a very talented author who does a great job in telling a good story and in developing interesting characters. Rosalyn Landor is the perfect narrator for AM's books....she does Scottish accents very well. In this particular story there was a perfect blend of heroes and bad guys....and sex. This my second McLayne book....but will not be my last.

Good book.

It’s another good book to read, but I could do without the vulgar words though. Rosalyn Landor is such a good narrator, she definitely gives the book life.

I want more

This is the second book in the series. So far this one is my favorite. The hero and heroine are both strong characters. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Disappointing 2nd in the series

I found the plot thin and confusing. The characters were shallow and predictable. The peripheral parts of the plot were confusing and often difficult to follow. Landor did her usual masterful job of narrating, but otherwise this was just so disappointing considering how much I enjoyed "Highland Promise."

Wonderful Narrator

Enjoyed the story more than the first in the series. The voice actress is incredible again.
