Publisher's summary

Changing history is harder than it appears.

Every time Nathan thinks he has stopped a world-ending war, he learns that somebody is trying to start it again. But once this is over, he’ll be free to relax and spend some quality time with his Champions.

As the war heats up, Nathan finds himself caught up in the schemes and fluffy tails of one of his former Champions, Narime. More figures from his past intrude, including a dark elf with a twisted personality and a princess who makes Nathan question his memories.

Behind everything, Kadria lurks alongside the other Messengers. Nathan finds himself buried in politics and at risk of losing everything, should his heretical alliance with her be discovered. In the end, the risk is worth it. Because the reward is to get back everything that he lost.

Heretic Spellblade 2 contains plenty of violence, harem/undefined relationships, beast girls, and scenes that don’t fade to black. Consider yourself warned.

Another Great Book

I so glad to see a bunch of new authors dropping audio books in this genre. This is a great story different from any of the other 500 titles i own in this genre. Keep them coming cant wait to see what happens next.

very interesting story continues

our hero is discovering that there are greater powers at play and that partners might not have his best interests. excellent character development and the political storyline is excellent. the narrator was spot on, the different tones given to each character really makes this story flow.

Book 1 Was Good, Book 2 Is Great...

The Narrator truly upped her game in this book, showing a range I didn't think she was capable of. This was top class. The story expands a on a good foundation that was set in book 1 and is setting a precedent for it's genre.

so good

the narrator was phenomenal. at the ending of the last book I was cautiously optimistic about where the story might go. Now that I'm at the ending of this book I got to say it was fantastic. I enjoyed the story immensely and I'm heading right into three now which is fortunately I'm available as of the time of this review in audiobook form.

Great Narration

The narrator juggles between many characters, but keeps the characters distinct. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Solid second book

Really starting to get into the world, great characters with a plot that offers meaningful surprises and character growth. Will follow future publications from this author.

Stephanie's narration was top notch as always.

Great sequel

Really enjoyed the second book. This world is being more fleshed out and great characters. Happy to listen to more and Stephanie does and superb job of narrating.

Narration

Stephanie is still better than many I’ve come across, dare I say ‘most’, but she still misses the mark for me. She has a nonchalant manner in her narration that undercuts most of the gravitas of the text. Its rare to come across a writer in this genre who can pull of real drama and comedy, so when it would otherwise work Stephanie kneecaps their effort.
Not a terrible performance. But…

Another examplar of the genre

This is the exact type of story that I was looking for when I started reading this genre. I stumbled onto haremlit and was baffled by how popular it was despite the apparent shallowness. While this book is still just as steamy as the genre would imply, it doesn't use that as an excuse not to tell a good story. Everything is well knit and well executed. I have nothing to critique which is rare for me. I am excited to continue this series.

Best intrigue

This series has the best political intrigue for a sword and sorcery style world. I love the series and wait patiently for book 3. Is it time for Nathan to fight some more messengers?
