Engaging Dexter Romance

I wouldn’t call this Dark Romance at all, because that genre glorifies crime bosses and criminals doing things for power or profit. This is what I call Dexter Romance, as in the TV show involving a serial killer with a code. I’ve been on a roll with that kind of romance and this one, featuring a FMC detective, delivered an excellent thriller to go with the romance.

At novella length, the arc with the copycat killer felt a bit rushed. But, what was missed there was made up for in the relationship Evelyn had with her partner. Also, there’s some fascinating deeper dives into the odd way we cope with stress and trauma. This had a dark topic, but it was surprisingly thoughtful, sexy, and yes, romantic.

More dark than spicy 🌶️

I loved the story overall and am off to look for more from this author. It’s a great dark romance but if you’re looking for 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ add this one to the tbr for when you’re in a more story focused mood 😉

My goodness, this was hot and fast. Can't wait for Marcus's book, the snippet was intriguing.

A Vigilante to die for~

I love this story and getting an audio version was so amazing! The Narration is great and Jo did an awesome job brining Eve to life! If you like a quick romance of unlikely pair then this is a great book to try!

Pretty lovely

All in all, I really liked this story. It’s not perfect and honestly I wish it would have been a bit longer to let us see more of the character’s insight into the previous murders he committed (not gonna say his name cos of spoilers) and the steps that got him into being a serial killer. But at the end of things, I really loved the main female character and following her feelings and issues in this story. Great performance too!
