Loved the story and reader. So good!

I really enjoyed this book. It was a wonderful trip into another world. Highly recommend.

On the surface, it’s Reflective but it goes much deeper when you look closer at it.

My 1st book about Snow White, which this book is based on, was beautifully illustrated by Trina Schart Hyman. It was bound in a deep black cloth, and I still have the copy my mother gave me when I was just 4 years old.

It was easy to picture some of those classic illustrations as I listened along to this well written addition to the author’s growing collection of remixed fairytales that we all either grew up reading, or watching as animations.

So any repurposed take to their story is a an enjoyable and twisted ride down a well known path.

This one in particular will make you feel a little wiggly about any older mirrors you might have in your house, especially if you happen to cross over more than one of them with your own reflection.

If you like T.Kingfisher's work you will love this book.
I loved the story and the characters.
As usual Ursula did a wonderful job retelling a fairytale we all know in a brilliantly cripy way.
Also great job by the narrator Jennifer Pickens.

If you know her, you know how good these re-imagined folk tales can be. Highly recommend

Disciplined, creative and funny

The narrator is key in understanding the characters in this wonderfully written book. I now expect this of T Kingfisher and I’m never disappointed. Do yourself a favor and spend that credit.

Enchanting and interesting

Such smooth writing, it feels absorbing and light. Interesting takes on the tale. Heartily enjoyed.

T. Kingfisher Never Disappoints!

This was a wholly original take on a classic story, with a well-framed story, realistic and lovable characters, shattering plot twists and a story that reflects a deep understanding of good storytelling. (See what I did there?)

Absolutely creative!

This book is so eventful and creative! I cannot believe the mind that can invent so many wonderful and new worlds with all sorts of magic. I believe that all T. Kingfishers’ books have kept me reading all through the night! This one had a touch of Snow White, the apples, magic, poison, and mirrors! It’s fascinating how much you think you know and still not know what is about to happen. This is an excellent piece and a must read!

Kingfisher’s characters are so relatable

Another lovely tale but instead of boring Barbie like princesses, we follow a healer, a woman of science that asks questions. Her questions and experiments as a healer, make her a fascinating person. I also liked that the protagonist was realistically chubby & not a fighter. Ppl that use their minds are often more interesting than those with swords. This story was full of new ideas. It is rare opportunity to read a book that doesn’t have tropes & cliches. It kept me guessing rt up until the end. There’s a bonus romance brewing as well. I will read this one again… what a contribution! I can’t wait for more.
