Yes, I said Brunch.
Yes, it has to be that specific stereotypical set-up because brunch is amazing. Brunch is uncomplicated; it doesn’t judge you for showing up with mascara smeared under your eyes, wearing your jammies or your Walkashame heels. Brunch is basic and that doesn’t matter because everyone loves it.
Mindy’s writing is just like brunch(but not basic). It’s accessible, easy to digest, and a balm for the soul. At the end her writing somehow leaves you feeling a little brighter and a little more hopeful about the world.
Look, I don’t know what that means either, I just know I enjoyed the heck out of it. I listened to her essays and I did the dishes and made bread.
I don’t like to do either of those things but somehow these essays made me do them both. So now I’m a better person.
