Publisher's summary

Hell is just a place on earth, right?

For Lucy, this couldn't be any closer to the truth. Stuck working in another dead-end job in another unremarkable city, Lucy’s adapted to life on the run by arming herself with a smokescreen of snarky humor. Sometimes though, her filter-less sasses land her in hot water, especially when it comes to triggering her unruly magic. But, still haunted by the memory of her parents’ deaths, she does her best to scrape by under the radar. Little does she know, however, mysterious forces at work have other plans for her.

After a trip to the pound, where a small, scrappy black cat befriends her, a rapid series of events thrusts Lucy - literally - into the complicated world of Hell. Caught up in the politics for the scramble to secure Lucifer’s throne, Lucy’s birthright is challenged when a nefarious plot arises, threatening the stability of not only Hell, but the relationships she's worked to build after years of mistrust. Lucy will need to learn to rely on others and use the help offered to her by an alluring demon and a ragtag team of misfits in order to save Hell before it’s ripped apart by all manners of depraved, ruthless enemies.

Contains mature themes.

Great story, questionable audio

This book is super cute, sexy and hilarious. I love each of the characters. The narrator is good but the recording itself is sketchy, like old equipment was used. There is a sort of echo. But the story and the narrator make up for it, you dont notice it after a chapter or two. The awesome writing makes up for the questionable audio equipment.

Bad audio

There is a very annoying background noise all the time. The story seems good but maybe a little too many boring details at times.

My Ears are Bleeding

The story itself was not bad but the narrator's voice was HORRIBLE. I'll read the book, but the audio is a bust. Her voice is flat and didn't accurately convey the emotions of the characters. i just couldn't get past Capter 2. I'm trying to get a refund for something better.

I wasn't very taken with the voice telling the story, but the storyline itself kept me listening.

Below average

This book should have and could have been great but fell way short. The ideas of the book were not well though out. The RH them was not even brought up in this book but has laid the path for another book. The heroin tries to be sassy but comes across like a grumpy teen. The male lead is just kinda there. The story just needs more world building and character development. More though all around.

The reading of this book made all this worse. The narrator sounds like a woman reading to a class. Not good at all.

For a free read (no credits) it's ok and away to pass time while looking for the next great book. Do not pay for it you will be disappointed.

Good Story Bad Sound Quality

The book has so much potential. Unique premise. but the poor execution of the narrative sound quality can not be overlooked.

Bad narration

Did not finish. Narrator reads story... very flatly. I can't even tell if the story is lame or if it's just the bad narration. Do not recommend wasting credit.
