Publisher's summary

Cowritten by USA Today best-selling author Tara Sivec and award-winning narrator Andi Arndt, a hysterically funny, heartfelt romance - created specifically for the audio format!

Nothing good ever comes from drinking a box of wine alone. So when I decided to entertain my drunken self by setting up some hand-me-down podcasting equipment and reading the steamy parts from romance novels, I never thought anyone would actually listen. The fact that I admitted my huge crush on my sexy next door neighbor made the whole thing even more mortifying. But sometimes life surprises you, and that’s how my podcast, Heidi’s Discount Erotica, was born.

Now I, Heidi Larsen, a sweet former kindergarten teacher in Waconia, Minnesota, lead a scandalous double life reading erotic novels to the listening world. And with each episode, I find myself embracing my new alter ego more and more. Now I’m starting to feel more comfortable in my own skin and do things I never would have dreamed of - like kissing my neighbor.

Look out, Waconia, because Heidi’s on the loose! She’s in your ears, in your hearts, and down your pants...wait, that didn’t sound as good as it did in my head. Well, you get the picture, don’tcha know!

Uff da! Get ready to laugh!

Overall 4 stars
Performance 5 stars
Story 3.5-4 stars

Heidi's Guide to Four Letter Words was such a hilarious and fun romcom! There isn't any heavy lifting or angst/drama. There are just laugh out loud moments as Heidi discovers herself and her sexuality. The story and romance was playful and sweet (though sometimes Heidi was a little too naive and clumsy). The secondary characters added lots of laughs as well, and I especially loved Heidi's parents. Their less than ideal meet cute with Brent gave me a stomach cramp because I was laughing so hard! Heidi's Guide to Four Letter Words felt almost like a story within a story since it was an audiobook discussing audiobooks, narrators, and podcasts. I loved all of the little Minnesota details and mannerisms too. Even though I'm not sure how accurate they are since I'm from California, they were a fun treat. I really enjoyed Andi Arndt's narration and Minnesota accent. Her comedic timing was awesome and she played every character perfectly. This is a great audiobook if you're in the mood to laugh!

Amazing book by a powerhouse duo

Where do I even begin?

There has never been a book from Tara Sivec that I didn't love and I swear Andi Arndt's voice is so soothing I could listen to her read a grocery list and be happy.

Heidi is this little innocent and clueless woman who takes on a job at Eden Audio after losing her job as a kindergarten teacher. Here she is thrust into the world of erotic romance. And for a woman that can't say some of the 4 letter words she is now hearing, it is a bit much.

Through the help of a famous actor who is in the studio doing some recordings, his wife who is a best selling romance author, and old equipment that needs to be tossed, Heidi decides to start her own - sometimes drunken - podcast: Heidi's Discount Erotica.

Throw in a hot neighbor and an overbearing mother and this is absolutely a RomCom you don't want to miss listening to.

Now I am off to make a hot dish.

My rating scale:
5☆ - I loved this book and it brought out true emotion in me (laughter, anger, a good cry, etc)
4☆ - I loved this book.
3☆ - I liked this book.
2☆ - I didn't really care for this book.
1☆ - I did not like this book at all and probably did not finish it.

Flirty, frothy, fun

Light, clean fun. Odd considering the plot involves Heidi reading the erotic naughty bits to the world in her podcast. Yet, the actual sex is limited to lip-mashing, an attempted BJ, and one wham-bam-thank-you-mam almost at the end of the book.
The narrator’s reading of Minnesotans is soda through the nose hilarious. As with other books, her male lead voice takes some getting used to. But she’s so good in all others areas that I get past it.

Funniest, sweetiest, book I have ever listened to!

Tara Sivec and Andi Arndt have to team up again and keep writing together!!! They are the best duo since Christina Lauren, and Andi Arndt's narration was incredible. I have never laughed so hard at any book. This has now taken over as my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE BOOK!!!!
Ms. Sivec and Ms. Arndt you have got to keep writing, you guys are the best!

Top Shelf Romance!

This book was adorable, funny, and sexy! I think this may be the first audiobook I listen to a million times! I hope Andi keeps writing and preforming her own work. This is amazing! I couldn’t stop listening and ended up staying up way too late!

Andi Arndt is one of my fave narrators!

This story was funny, real and so amazingly portrayed by Andi Arndt. I always enjoy her narrations and this story does not disappoint. It left me with a sense of confidence about beginning dating again at the age of 51!! The storyline is quirky but real and offers the listener an opportunity to become empowered and find your own voice in life.
