From USA Today Bestselling author K Webster and Nikki Ash, comes a modern telling of a classic tale.

This isn’t a typical love story. This is a story of what happens when love is so powerful and all-consuming that it has the ability to destroy everyone involved. It’s definitely not pretty and it’s certainly not a fairytale, but it’s their story and it couldn’t be told any other way.

By the time I got to the end of this audiobook, my thoughts were that this was brilliant writing from these two authors. Totally not what I was expecting. They are an incredible writing team and I've enjoyed reading their books before. But I'm not going to lie, the first part of this audiobook, I absolutely HATED. Warning: cheating that made me sick. I completely disliked the first two characters as well as their story. I do not feel anything, but disgust, for either of them. I didn't think I'd continue, and then it happened. We are getting three generations of story in this book. I became so engrossed that I didn't want to pause it. I came to love the next four characters/two couples in the story. This is a story that had to build. The way they weaved the three storylines together was brilliant. I became invested. I'm certain I'll listen to it again in the future, skipping some parts, but still worthy of a relisten!

Lexi Evans and Logan Anare are excellent narrators. They gave us an emotional performances that had the audiobook rolling like a movie in my head.

The narrators did a really good job giving the characters a voice and telling this story. Even though I couldn't stand Theo and his annoying whiny voice.

This is a retelling of Wuthering Heights, I never read the classic but may need to read it. This is an interesting, entertaining story told about the love triangle between two generations to the third generation while she is dealing with her own love triangle. This story deals with the choices between love and money, revenge, obsession, deceit, lies and secrets. This is a bit different than I'm used to in a Nikki Ash story but just enjoyed it as the others.

Enjoyable!

This is a dark Wuthering heights retelling, I really enjoyed this, I loved when Nikki ash and K webster write together. The story is always amazing, lots of good spice and a great storyline. The only thing was I had a terrible time getting into it cause of the narrators, I wasn’t a big fan of there narration but that’s just my personal preference!Once I finally got into it I couldn’t stop listening!

This audiobook, narrated by Lexi Evans and Logan Anare, offered a modern twist on "Wuthering Heights" that deeply moved me. It delves into the raw, intense aspects of love's power to uplift and destroy. Heath's tragic journey, in particular, tugged at my heartstrings, leaving me wishing for a different outcome for him. The emotional depth, enriched by the complexity of the characters, made this listen compelling. Far from a conventional love story, it's a profound exploration of love's many facets, leaving a lasting impact. It's an immersive experience, especially for those ready to navigate a whirlwind of emotions.

This book is very interesting. Reminds me of The Princess Bride. The beginning of the book starts off with a grandmother telling a story to Emily about Heath and Catrina. How Heath’s love and obsession wasn’t enough. It also shows that money doesn’t make you happy either. This story then shifts to Cat, Harrison, Theo and Heath. I loved how each timeline and story melded together so smoothly. Lexi Evans and Logan Anare did a fantastic job narrating this book.

Very interesting story. First part of book is Nanny telling Emily about the obsessive love between Heath and Catrina. It goes on about money being more important than love, a betrayal of sorts then the unthinkable. The second part of the story is a mother telling the rest of the story about the love between two people and the revenge of a bitter man who is out to destroy everyone he feels took the most important person in his life. Three generation of story that is perfectly told.

Great narration by Lexi Evans and Logan Anare.

I've struggled with how to rate and review this. There were things I liked, but even more that I didn't connect with. There were some cute moments, some horrible and ugly times, and plenty of petty ones. Even after stepping away from it for several weeks, I'm still uncertain but here goes nothing.

This starts with a more adult version of 'The Princess Bride' with the child being a recently turned 18-year-old woman being told the story of Catrina Crenshaw and Heath as her heart aches for Troy, a young man in her world who isn't ready to grow up.

Very little about this falls into what I would consider a traditional romance as there are three love triangles covering three generations. There is excessive obsession (it proves to be truly unhealthy and heartbreaking), a person who's OK with loving someone that should definitely be off limits (blood relations don't do it for me), and promises of better choices being made by our heroines.

I kind of liked the irony of the situations between the first and second generations. With one poor boy getting an HEA, while the other poor boy turned into a damaged man who took and took and never really found the place to give anything back.

Each generation had issues, some were never overcome. It's sad in so many ways, but there is a silver lining for at least one couple.

I haven't read the original classic, 'Wuthering Heights,' that this is based on. Perhaps, one day. 🤔

I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators are Lexi Evans and Logan Anare. I love the duet narration. Both narrators are good with their respective characters, and I look forward to more of their work.

If you are a fan or have ever been curious what the classic “Wuthering Heights” is all about, this modern-ish retelling follows its core story beats pretty steadily, but with a few changes. Even several of the names are the same or similar.

The writing style of this book is excellently done. I’ve listened to a handful of Nikki Ash’s work and very much enjoyed them. The two authors play with words in engaging ways, like doing onomatopoeias at least in each of the past chapters, them weaving this in to create a word pattern of word splendor. Tap, tap, tap.

I will say, although the writing style was captivating, they did not state when the past sections were. In a story that depends on the past to tell the tale as a whole, I don’t think stating a general time for those parts hurts to keep the book from being dated. It made me feel less connected honestly. I did some math based on the publication date (2018) and a few clues and realized the past parts were set in the late 1950s/early 1960s, for those who wanted to know like me. Ha.

I also agree with several of the other reviews; some trigger warnings should have been stated at the beginning for there are some topics expressed here that could easily make someone uncomfortable.

I will say, the first couple is hard to root for, showing the seeds of obsession love can sprout. But I feel that’s the point. The power of love is critical here.

I did like the other two couples. The second one was composed in lovely ways that resounded in me. And how our third lady processed her feelings was really engaging and pure, fitting a modern audience. There were some parts here that truly made me gasp in shock and awww with touched tears.

If you want drama, this work has it in spades! And both Lexi Evans and Logan Anare performed every emotion with a profoundness that thumped in your soul. They pulled you into this universe of bitter sweetness, of heat and spice (and indeed, there is PLENTY of hot intimacy scenes.) It was raw and edgy, forgiving and full of discovery, them giving it their all at every moment.

Love and lust at its best.

Arrrg! This one was good up to a point then it just went creepy. I was rooting for Heath but he went too dark and too evil for me. The blurb is very non telling which is fine but maybe a trigger warning or two would have been helpful. This is a complex story full of drama! I really feel this one could have been a soap opera. I listened to this on audio. Lexi Evans and Logan Anare are the narrators and they both did a wonderful job.

Lots of thought went into this one but not my cup of tea.
