Gunner's Redemption

I could not image how Gunner was going to be redeemed. I think I might have even missed a book. But, this book embodies Gunner's pain and the idiom, "caught between a rock and a hard place". It seemed like his life was one impossible situation after another.

Lacy had her own demons to conquer. I liked the way they came together and provided a level of healing for one another. I also appreciated there was not a ton of angst between these two.

I liked the other characters in the book as well. I have to admit that I listened to these books completely out of order, but realized some if the characters were from other series. This just gives me more books to read in order to place catch up.

The narration was good. The narrator did a great job of expressing Gunner's pain, self loathing, regrets, and ultimately forgiveness of actions outside of his control. I am looking forward to Jack's book, but I still need to read Reid, Mitch, and Waggs book.

Gunner's Redemption

I've been waiting for this one and it did not disappoint. How can you not want to just give Gunner a hug and I was so happy he finally gets some happiness in his life. Lacey was a great heroine and you couldn't help but root for their HEA together. Lots of action and $exy times.

While it can be listened to as a standalone, to get the full history of Gunner it's best to start at the beginning. Not to mention all the other characters that have an appearance and the continuation of some storylines.

Audio - Piers Ryman was excellent with the narration and the accents.

One of my favorites

Gunner is a great redemption story. I could not put it down! Maddie Wade did an awesome job with the insight into the characters in this book. Gunner’s motivation to become a part of the Eidolon team again and his love for Lacey makes for a sexy, suspenseful book. It’s definitely a page turner! Lacey is a strong, resilient, protective woman. She is an excellent match for Gunner’s alpha heart of gold. Can he protect her and his family? You also get great glimpse into Jack too. I can’t wait for Wags’s book!

Gunner & Lacey

Oh those Eidolon Black Ops men! Each one flawed, but Gunner is definitely the broodiest of them so far! He is one to carry a lot on his shoulders, guilt from his childhood constantly haunting him. It finds him making decisions that put his men in danger and now trust is broken. Lacey is leaving her public life, and she bumps into the sullen man. Gunner is one she has dreamed about as he did save her once. Now their attraction is undeniable and their passion high. Will it only be one night? Will Lacey be able to help heal Gunner? Will Gunner gain the trust of his men? It's a fast paced, emotionally driven romantic suspense, and it is fabulous! I love Gunner and all his flaws. He has a huge heart, and he carries everything with him. I found him very real and easy to understand. Lacey is sweet and sassy, and a woman you don't want to mess with! I love this couple, the family scenes and they way the Eidolon Black Ops team is always there for each other. Another amazing addition to this series.

Piers Ryman comes in with his accent and once again wins my heart. He has a good understanding of this series and these character and brings out all their feelings, strengths and passions. It is a wonderful listen.

Great story

Great story! I have been hoping for this story for several books. I really hoped Gunner would get redemption after his past actions caused so much trouble and not become a "lost cause" to Eidolon. I Just knew there had to be more to his story, and Maddie wrote that story in such a way that everyone can feel for him. Lacey was a saving grace and there was so much heart in the story of forgiveness, plus action and suspense. And of course seeing the Fortis and Zenobi teams collaborate was awesome.. And as always narration helps bring a story to life with accents, etc

Gunner's story is great

I really enjoyed Gunner & Lacey's story. They are great together. Both with a past they struggle to overcome and they make each other better.

The narration was pretty good. I really liked the accents that he did . I just feel during some (not all of them only a few) of the emotional scenes the performance fell flat. The lines felt emotionless.

Gunner and Lacey

Wow, I was so happy to listen to this one. Gunner has had a rough time lately and in this one we learn why and all the struggles he had been facing. He battled bad guys and some of his team mates to become who he needed to in order to save a woman he met and felt instantly attracted to but he had a hard time believing he deserved anything but misery. Will he and Lacey be able to find happiness and true love?

Maddie Wade did an incredible job with this one and I fell so in love with these two characters!!

Lots off suspense

Gunner is in pain. He is so broken and needs to forgive himself for much. Lacey is also healing and needs love. Together they are able to heal each other but that road is not smooth. I love the suspense and the mysteries and the teamwork. Visiting with other team members and feeling how they each deal with Gunner's pain is insightful and means a lot to the story. 4.5 stars. The Audible version is well done.

Gunner's Story!!

This is the sixth book in the Eidolon Black Ops Series, a Romantic Suspense, and a standalone in an ongoing series. I love this series! Gunner and Lacey‘s story is emotional, intense, and captivating, filled with drama, danger, and twists and turns. Gunner is enigmatic, caring, and protective. Lacey is beautiful, smart, and supportive. They are perfect together. This is another great addition to the series. The supporting characters are intriguing. The team members and significant others are amazing. Piers Ryman did an excellent job with the narration. I highly recommend this series! #SpectrumAudiobooks

Captivating & Emotional! Great Story & Listen🎧

Maddie Wade delivers some more Eidolon Black Ops greatness with Gunner’s story and after hearing of Gunner’s betrayal I was interested to know more about him and why he would do what he did when his teammates spoke so highly of him. Gunner is trying to pick up the pieces of his life, he lost the best thing that ever happened to him, becoming a member of the Eidolon team. The man has always carried the weight of the world on his shoulders since he was a young boy and that tragic day, a day that haunted him the rest of his life. Lacey Cannon walked away from her old life choosing for a much quieter one but she is still looking for her own happiness and after running into Gunner, the man who saved her life, and having a chance encounter with him she is hoping for more. Gunner felt the same but he needs to get rid of his inner demons and self worth issues first. Lacey’s past is not done with her and neither is Gunner’s, he will do what he can to protect her and do a better job handling things with his former team, who he brings in to help. Eidolon is also working on another threat and we get to watch the team members do their thing and hear them out about Gunner again. There is never a dull moment in this cleverly plotted story, it contains a perfect balance of drama, angst, mystery, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and a wonderful romance. Maddie Wade, thank you for another great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Piers Ryman did a fabulous job bringing these characters to life and their story to life and did so with a complete understanding of the characters he was portraying, giving each their own voice and personality, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. He set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions, and projected them into his performance. Piers Ryman is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to.
