Publisher's summary

I knew I'd find my mate, but he doesn't want to be claimed.

It's my job as one of the alpha's enforcers to keep our pack safe, and with war brewing, I'm busier than ever. I should be wholly focused on my job, but when Stefan crosses my path, suddenly, I'm focused on him.

I've always wanted to find my fated mate, and now, I need to convince him that he's mine. The independent omega says he can take care of himself, but all my instincts are driving me to protect him.

How can I convince a man determined not to need anyone that I'll always be there for him?

War rages on around us, bringing us together in the strangest of ways. But as the violence gets worse and threatens the safety of the entire pack, will it be the thing that tears us apart?

Bad choice of Narrator

The story was good but, the narrator was terrible.
I had to increase the speed to 1.4 just to get through the book as soon as possible.

Disappointed

I was so trilled that the storyline was going to continue with the best friend. However who in the HELL chose narrator!!! The story itself was written well enough that it made you want to keep listening.

I’m sorry to say I don’t recommend this book because it gave me Bleeding ears…I tried to hang in but couldn’t

Good-ish story.... Spoiler Alert !!!

I like the story and characters except Stephan. I disliked his character and everything he put Nick through. The worst part was towards the end when he said he was tired of Nick’s emotional rollercoaster just because he wanted to keep him safe. When Stephen was the one who kept pushing him away time and time again. Everyone kept babying Stephan and not telling him how dumb he sounds saying he doesn’t want or isn’t attracted to his fated mate. And how Cassius told Nick that he was messing up when he broke up with Stephan when once again that was Stephen’s doing and overreaction. He gave Stephan exactly what he asked for and he still got pissed. I’m not sure what the author was trying to do towards the end but it didn’t work.

Not for me

I didn't like Stefan James at all, wasn't a fan of Nicholas Black's almost meekness in the face of Stefan's rudeness. I usually enjoy fated mates stories, but there's very little about this which is romantic, and their relationship is not at all interesting to me. The story of the war being waged against the shifters is interesting enough. I also didn't especially enjoy this performance.

A Great Sequel

This is the second book in The Everglow Pack Series. You need to read the first book before this one. A captivating book the writing was good. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters wonderful. The characters were developed and thought out. Nicolas and Stefan are the MC’s of this book and mates. I can recommend this book as a good read/listen. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Fated Mates for the win!

I might be in the minority, but I love the idea of fated mates. Honestly, I wish it were true in real life. Sigh...Alas, I must read about it and this one had it all. The world building is enjoyable and the interplay between the characters is wonderful! I can't wait for more!

Good continuation

I'm enjoying the overall story in the series but Ifelt like the MCs romance got a little overshadowed by it. Narration is a little better than the first its just difficult for me to switch narrators once you get into the story.

Good

Twist and turns, the story is coming together. You really need to read this series in order, to get the full scale of the storyline I'm hoping it gets even better.
first time I have listened to this narrator and he did a pretty decent job.

Interesting new world

I enjoyed the world building in this book and all the characters. The trope of reluctant fated mate/omega was well handled and the depiction of a world on the brink of war nicely done. I am interested to see where things go in subsequent books, but I think I will read them rather than listen if the narrator stays the same. Mark Ruben is a new narrator for me and he does a good job, character voices are distinct and easily identifiable, but the emotions struck me as a bit flat and in need of a bit more heat.

Shifters, fated mates, intrigue and action!

Shifters, fated mates, intrigue and action create an engaging story.   I really liked the plot and enjoyed the MC's.  I thought the world-building was original and that peeked my interest.  The characters were interesting and i enjoyed the supporting characters.

i was a  little disappointed in the narrator for this book.  His tone of voice just was not my favorite.

Nic and Stefan are fated mates and have an intense connection.  I felt for both of them as they felt their way though this very scary time of being on the brink of war and finding your fated mate.  I really enjoyed their journey and how deep their connection was.

This is book two of the Everglow Pack and i am looking forward to reading book three.

Hurt/comfort, fated mates

A fiesty omega guarding his damaged heart determined to give his fated mate a run for his money.
A tough and tender pack enforcer determined to give his fated mate everything he needs, not just what he believes he wants.
The underlying overall series plot is filled with danger, mystery, intrigue, and fast paced action.

Great continuation

This is a great continuation of the Everglow Pack series. Each book contains the story of an individual couple while advancing the overall story of the wolf shifters and their human attackers. I really enjoy the way the story unfolds with clues and new information. There were definitely some surprises in this one, and like the first book, it ends on a surprise twist. I loved the story of Stefan and Nick. Stefan has been hurt before when the man he was going to mate found his fated mate, so Stefan resists the mating bond and strives to maintain his independence. Nick believes in the bond and is very patient with Stefan. Their growing relationship plays out against a backdrop of war, attacks, suspense, and drama. I like Alpha Hughes and the way he is willing to listen to others who may have useful ideas, regardless of their station, though I don't understand why he doesn't reign in his omega son Sloan. Maybe he gives Sloan the attention he thinks he deserves.

The narration is good although some of the characters come off as very young-sounding, not like adults (Mikel, for example).

Brill

This is a brilliant story that continues on from the first book but features different main characters and emerges you back in the world. I found it fun and heartwarming to follow as Nicolas tries to court Stefan who is very resistant through past hurt. We also find out some more interesting information.

Interesting story,

I hadn't read or listened to the first book, but I still enjoyed the story. There is a hurt/comfort theme - Stefan has been hurt and is a bit gunshy with the whole fated mate thing. Nicolas is patient and is determined to win Stefan over. Overall, it's an interesting story about fated mates and pack politics. The end sets the stage for the next book.
The narration was just ok for me.

Interesting take on shifters

I liked the storyline and the overall mystery of what was going on and the steamy scenes were super hot! My problem was two things: one, I just didn’t like Stefan I thought he was a jerk to nick for 99% of the story and I didn’t really understand his thinking processes at all. Two, to me, the narrator had made the characters sound much younger than grown adults more like teenaged surfer dudes and it really threw me off. Overall I thought it was pretty good and I’ll probably continue on in the story.

Enjoyable afternoon listen

This was one of those books that the narrator manages to bring to life in a spectacular way.

The book and it's story was brought to life and kept me listening and engaged from the first word spoken to the last.

Guarding His Mate (Everglow Pack Book 2)by Liam Kingsley and Jenny Tia.This story develops nicely. A good combination of world building and character development. If you like M/Preg and shifter this was a good listen.
The Narrator Mark Ruben did a good job bringing these characters and story to life.

A shifter love story

This second book in the Everglow pack series featured a very interesting shifter story following the premise of the fated mates in the middle of a war with a lot of action, intrigue and danger. The love story of Nicolas and Stefan is sweet and full of hope. This amazing book is even better in the great performance of Mark Ruben. His voice is nice and smooth so hearing him is a treat. Loved it!
