I knew I'd find my mate, but he doesn't want to be claimed.

It's my job as one of the alpha's enforcers to keep our pack safe, and with war brewing, I'm busier than ever. I should be wholly focused on my job, but when Stefan crosses my path, suddenly, I'm focused on him.

I've always wanted to find my fated mate, and now, I need to convince him that he's mine. The independent omega says he can take care of himself, but all my instincts are driving me to protect him.

How can I convince a man determined not to need anyone that I'll always be there for him?

War rages on around us, bringing us together in the strangest of ways. But as the violence gets worse and threatens the safety of the entire pack, will it be the thing that tears us apart?

Guarding His Mate is book 2 in the Everglow Pack series. This book continues on from book 1 and in this book Nicolas finds Stefan, his fated mate. Stefan is hesitant to welcome Nicolas' advances at first. He has been hurt in the past and doesn't want to hurt like that again. But even he can't deny the pull to be with Nicolas. With an impending war on the horizon everyone is on full alert. The prisoner Eli is slowly coming around and sharing the information he knows, and has possibly found his fated mate. To be continued in the next book.
Narrator Mark Ruben does a wonderful job.

The world these shifters live in is interesting, I'd like to explore more. This books feels sort of like it's mostly setting up for the events of the next book as far a the big conflict with the humans. Ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. the romance between the two fated mates is sweet, could have developed certain parts more, but overall a satisfactory read and an intriguing story.

Interesting plot

I'm enjoying the overall story in the series but Ifelt like the MCs romance got a little overshadowed by it. Narration is a little better than the first its just difficult for me to switch narrators once you get into the story.

Good continuation

I like the story and characters except Stephan. I disliked his character and everything he put Nick through. The worst part was towards the end when he said he was tired of Nick’s emotional rollercoaster just because he wanted to keep him safe. When Stephen was the one who kept pushing him away time and time again. Everyone kept babying Stephan and not telling him how dumb he sounds saying he doesn’t want or isn’t attracted to his fated mate. And how Cassius told Nick that he was messing up when he broke up with Stephan when once again that was Stephen’s doing and overreaction. He gave Stephan exactly what he asked for and he still got pissed. I’m not sure what the author was trying to do towards the end but it didn’t work.

Good-ish story.... Spoiler Alert !!!
