Teenage fantasy written by a teenager

I made it through book 1 and part of book 2. This is a good value for 1 credit, but it is just not for me.

The story is a sword and sorcery tale that is really just a horny teenage fantasy. Expect butt, boob, and poop jokes. Character interactions are written as caricatures, and feel pretty hollow. Additionally, the MC is really just a head strong douche. Think lawful good paladin and everything that goes with that. There is a reason this archetype is used as a foil to more realistic heroes in other series and it is frustrating to try to follow him. There is also no reasons given why he is the only capable person in an empire.

This is presented in single POV. It also uses a tell not show narration style, which is frustrating. Instead of a description of characters taking action, you get the MC's internal monologue about it.

Overall, this is not a bad series, it just hits too many of my pet peeves. I am just not the target audience.

Fantasy, Bombastic Babes, and Griffins

First off, it's an omnibus, so LOTS of great content rolling in 71hrs.
The story is great, good twists, and fantastic world building. Marcus told a clear story with strong progression and kept me wanting to listen more.

There were a couple of minor audio slip ups during my listen, but nothing to get me to stop listening. Both Daniel and Rebecca were great choices to narrate, the two seamlessly rolled together as a good pair.

One of the best books of it’s genre’s

I must admit I let the cover art of the books deceive me into not taking the book series seriously. I am glade I finally listened to the Audio version, the were very well thought out and the characters were developed properly.
The books were entertaining and original, the story line really helped you feel for the characters and there world’s in story. Combining the whole series together in one purchase makes this one of thee best values on Audible.

great book

overall the book was good, there are some slow / repetitive ideas throughout, but if you're looking for a book that will keep you entertained this will do it. also a great Job well done by both narrators I have loved how they can do such awesome voices and keep the multitude of different voices consistent throughout the series.

good book tho book 4 and 5 was a little rushed. Couldve been a more action focused series but none the less , a credit well spent,it is a good one! Recommend it ~"Stay classy!"~ Griff

Didn’t like the vin section as much but I’m glad I stuck with it. THE WHOLE MASTER UNIVERSE WAS GREAT. Overall I enjoyed the books and don’t regret my purchase

Adventure

Great book, written well narited fantastic. Love,sex, death, and destination what more could you ask for.

A good story with a happy ending

Emphasis on *ending* since we’ve even got a nice epilogue chapter to write the happily ever after. That’s a good enough reason to start, knowing there is in fact an end.

The sex scenes are brief, the dirty talk frequent, it’s more a story about a hero doing hero things and getting laid all the time as befits a hero.

It’s a long title for a single credit, I’d say it’s well worth it, nothing is so flawed that it’s distracting, except there are several occasions where a sentence or a part of a sentence repeats, and while quite confusing, in 70 hours of audio I can only recall it happening 4 or 5 times?

My favorite part was how the power and scale of things managed to keep going up, without getting into any weird abstractions. Even when MC’s individual strength exceeds that of most everyone he interacts with, there’s still organizational strength to consider and grow. What good is a powerful leader with no one to lead?
