This Nuts and Bolts of Building a Successful, Self-Sustaining Company

In Grind, Michael J. McFall, co-CEO of BIGGBY® COFFEE, will help you identify the common sense strategies needed to turn your start-up idea into a positive-cash flow business. Dispensing with the notion that potential business owners require a formal education, he outlines several fundamental areas of importance, keying in on hustle, self-evaluation, and commitment.

Having risen from a minimum-wage barista to build a company with over 250 stores in 9 states, McFall writes with the authority of hard-fought achievement. In addition to his calls for “personal due diligence,” he goes into detail about crucial business drivers, speaking from his personal and professional experience and including examples of hits and misses along the way.

McFall avoids sophisticated descriptions of processes and theories, retaining a down-to-earth approachability throughout the book. Filled with anecdotes, ideas, and calls to action, Grind provides the insight and expertise aspiring business owners require to reach profitability.

Excellent and realistic. To be successful the business owner has to work long and hard. This is his story.

I needed this book. Started my business in Clarkston, MI in 1997. Went through every phase of success and failure. Started another business and went through it again. Now trying to decide what’s next. This book was very helpful.

Thank You GRIND

The morning before I started reading this book, I was in a very dark and disillusioned place. I was looking for a sign wondering whether I should give up my business, was all this constant striving worth it?
I wanted to know if it was a worth the strain on my family, finances, emotional, and physical health. And after listening to the book for half an hour I realized that I was not alone.
And that I have been on the correct path for the last year. And that there is hope at the end of the tunnel. It was just the confirmation I needed! That all the hard work and everything that I had been putting into the business is normal. And that I am not a failure or doing everything completely incorrectly.
Thank you, Michael. I hope one day to meet you in person - I owe you my business.

Brought me out of the valley of death !

I think the ideal reader of this book is an aspirational franchise business owner that doesn't have previous business experience that wants a primer on working smb franchise owner life. I think it would have been enhanced with more chapters of trails, tribulations, and how franchises in Bigby's system or others have faced difficulties and succeeded by making changes at the franchisee level.

so/so aspirational business owner book
