A Gotrek Gurnisson audio drama collection.
One of the most enduring characters in Warhammer fiction has made the leap to the Mortal Realms, and this series of audio dramas will give you fresh insight into what makes the Realmslayer tick.
Listen to it because...in the World-that-Was, Gotrek Gurnisson was a whirlwind of fury on a quest for redemption. In the Mortal Realms, he remains a whirlwind of fury on a quest for redemption - and where slaying the worst that the worlds of Warhammer have to offer is concerned, there's a lot to be said for consistency. Come along for the ride with the slayer himself with this collection of Gotrek audio dramas written by David Guymer.

A great audio drama remake of the original book.

Thanks Brian Blessed for lending your amazing voice and talent to this character. Well worth a credit.
Also features other great voice actors, in particular I love Jonathan Keeble! Many know him from other warhammers as a narrator but I knew him first as Derfel Kadarn of The Warlord Chronicles, or The Winter King by Bernard Cornwell!!!
We may never experience this majesty again

Otherwise, great narriation, great voices and acting, and a good long story length, to keep me painting.
Great Story for the most part.

Firstly, Gotrek (previously very grumpy and rarely willing to share even basic information) is constantly talking. I suppose that's necessary for an audio drama format. But the content of his dialog doesn't match his previous characterization at all. With his previous companions, he went decades while sharing almost none of his backstory, but here he's discussing his lost wife and child with an elf after only a few months. I rolled my eyes when he gave minute+ long speeches to tell other characters that he doesn't want to talk. He also freely discusses how much bigger and grander the cities in the Mortal Realms are, compared to even the great Dwarfholds of his past life, which I doubt his previous characterization would ever admit to anyone. I get the author is trying to show Gotrek has developed over the time he was off in the chaos wastes and transition readers into the Age of Sigmar setting, but it feels very forced.
For the most part, all the voice actors seem to do great. Brian Blessed is over-the-top, but fun as Gotrek. The weakest voices to me were most of the skaven characters, but that may have been more an issue of writing as well. Jonathan Keeble (who narrates the audiobooks in the series) sticks out as the best ratman voice to me and even some of his characters' lines felt extra silly.
Good voicework, mediocre writing/dialog.
