Resumen del Editor

A Warhammer Age of Sigmar novel

Venture into a long-dead city alongside the Celestial Vindicators in an action-packed tale that pits the Stormcast Eternals against marauding greenskins, the vile hordes of Chaos and mercenaries seeking riches - not to mention the dark presence that lurks beneath the streets.

Listen to it because

Subterranean labyrinths, battles against enemies and supposed allies, Stormcast Eternals in a desperate situation.... You'll experience all this and more as you prepare to discover the secrets of the Stormvaults....

The story

An ancient labyrinth of eerie subterranean ruins and creeping shadow, the dead city of Mordavia has long concealed a secret of unimaginable power. Now, as vast armies gather and war drums thunder, the perilous treasures of this cursed city are about to be unleashed. Lord-Celestant Kalyani Thunderblade leads her Celestial Vindicators into battle, determined to ensure that the city’s secrets remain forever under lock and key. Yet the odds are stacked steeply against her: plague-ridden legions of maggotkin, swarming tides of skaven, brutal greenskin hordes and mercenary Kharadron Overlords are all racing for the prize, shattering the sepulchral silence as they transform Mordavia’s ruins into a blood-drenched battleground. Worse still, something monstrous stirs ever-closer to wakefulness deep beneath the city’s buried streets. At the head of a desperate alliance, Thunderblade must battle twisted warlords, rising storms of dark sorcery and her own inner demons to achieve victory in Mordavia, lest she pay the ultimate price....

Written by Andy Clark. Running time 10 hours and 49 minutes. Narrated by Charlotte Worthing.

Feels like realmgate wars, a good thing

A solid entry if you love listening to the myriad descriptions of the different factions and armies. Reads like the realmgate wars books but with more factions coming to bare. No overarching plot for AoS, but that's not a deal breaker.

8 hours of nothing much.

Another 8 hours of "there was a big nondescript battle with no plot" that some of these Warhammer books can turn into. Age of Sigmar has put out some truly fun fantasy novels, and the horror stuff has been great, but these big battle books just don't come of as impactful as their 40k counterparts.

This one is more in the style of the Realmgate Wars early series of AoS novels and I think it's just got a little stale.

A faction tour of the mortal realms

This novel fleshes out many of the factions in AoS and gives you a glimpse into how they wage war, I liken it to the shadow of Mordor game as it fleshes out factions and the world but doesn't play much into the overall plot points of the world. The narration is great, the prolog just feels weak but the narrator delivers after that.

well done. does not feel like it's selling models

a well done story presenting the different races of AOS in their own words.

Hated the ending

Interesting story, good characters, bad ending. Left me thinking 'well what was the point then?' an annoying habit in AOS stories is there never seems to be a satisfying ending to any stories. Everyone ends up dead with no side gaining anything no matter how much they sacrifice. Why bother giving us interesting characters that give their lives for their cause if they amount to nothing in the end? Their actions pointless. Even in 40k a pyrrhic victory is a likely outcome but this was just pointless. The '''""victory"""" in the end was basically just a 'to be continued' cliffhanger that does not at all make me care what happens next. Why should I when I just spent 10 hours on a story with no point. I'm pretty easy to please and rarely complain about this sort of thing but this one broke even the limits of my tolerance for bullsh*t. Listen if you don't care about bad ending and a good narrator but I cant recommend.

Good stuff

Crazy ride this one. The character development was really well done. More than just Stormcast to enjoy here.

Oh man....where to start...

I've listened to almost every aos book on audible at this point and this one is the only I will say I regret buying

The story was all over the place, the ending was terribe and a missed opportunity but the main thing I couldn't get past ...

The choice of narrator. I don't know what compelled them to force this poor lady to try to voice ogre warlords, orruk warbosses, demons, nurgle blightkings and so much more butch characters. But it really takes away from the story. The worst is probably the skaven, I did actually burst out laughing at how high pitched she went for them. To be fair she has a nice voice for the main character, but the writing makes her so unlikeable that her performance can't make up for it.

I love Age of Sigmar and feel bad leaving a negative review but seriously, purchase carefully with this one.
