Can my best friend get me to enjoy the holidays? Ho... Ho... Um…No?

Christmas just isn't my jam. The crowds. The cold. That Mariah Carey song blasting everywhere I go. Thanks, but no thanks.

Don't get me wrong. I'm no Grinch. The holidays are awesome if you have a great family and money to shower them with gifts. Unfortunately for me, I have neither of those things.

All I want for Christmas (great, now I'm quoting that damn Mariah song) is to focus on my internship at the Vet Shop Boys clinic and hanging out with my best friend and roommate.

Turns out Chester has got other ideas. Along with a crew of loved-up vets, he's on a mission to get me to enjoy the holidays and fall in love with him.

Wait… What?!

There's no way I'll ever become one of those festive people who likes Christmas, but who knows? Maybe this will be the first holiday season that actually gets me merry?

Got Me Merry is book 6 in the Vet Shop Boys series and can be listened to as a stand-alone. Expect plenty of humor, found family, best-friends-to-lovers, a grumpy Christmas Grinch, a sunshiny Christmas lover, some very wacky Christmas traditions, a sizzling hot fun run on a freezing winter day, a two-legged dog with a heart of gold, meddling vets determined to add a sprinkling of love to the holidays, and a heartwarming happily ever after!

Vet Shop Boys calendar - I want one please 🥰

The narrator - honestly so many people rave over this narrator but for me he was blah! I was very tempted to give up on this audio and purchase the e-book.
I’ve not heard this narrator before so I’m not sure if it was just the way he portrayed Chester and Lawson or if this was his usual voice.
However, I persisted and continued to the end.
Loved the story line and as this was the first of the Vet Shop Boys series I’ve read I will definitely look at others in the series to read.

Lawson and Chester

"𝙔𝙤𝙪'𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙, 𝘾𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙨. 𝙄 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪."

Got Me Merry is the sixth book in the Vet Shop Boys series by Casey Cox which is Lawson and Chester's story.

Lawson and Chester have been best friends since they met in vet school. Chester is determined to get Lawson to fall in love with Christmas but the Vet Shop Boys have another plan to help Chester and Lawson realize that they are in love with each other.

OMG!!!! Chester and Lawson are so absolutely perfect for each other. They are the definition of opposites with Lawson the grumpy Scrooge and Chester the cheery elf and their banter proves how tight they are. I love how the Vet Shop Boys were able to see everything Chester and Lawson couldn't and helped them along.

I was laughing out loud so often while enjoying the entire book and my heart was so full of holiday cheer. I love heading to Brookhaven to hang out with the Vet Shop Boys and can not wait for the next book in the series to head back.

John Solo did a great job bringing the story and all of the characters to life.

Get ready for... mm, holiday (Christmas), grumpy/sunshine, small town, best friends, roommates, opposites attract, medical romance told in the dual first-person point of view.
