odd ball, romantic fun read

it was great story, i love the character development, de humor and the performance on the audiobook. must have in your collection of paranormal reads

Cute.

Sweet love story, I really enjoyed the protagonists. But the other parts of the story was not super convincing.

Turns 12 step tropes on their heads

First scene is a very stereotypical first time 12 step meeting...with every experience having a completely different meaning than usual. That first scene by itself make me laugh enough for the credit to be worth it.
Otherwise, it's a fun story, interesting enough to keep you going and with a positive ending. Usual wlw romance fare with above average writing.

So Sweet

At first I wasn’t sure if I’d like a story about a vampire not wanting to drink blood from people anymore, but this was such a sweet little adventure that I just couldn’t stop. It ruined my sleep schedule, and I’m not even mad.

Romance and allegory

A cute and romantic story, with some more serious themes like addiction and the pressure of familial expectations.
The struggle that the vampire character goes through with her family is a clear allegory for the struggle that many gay people endure when coming out to family or church, especially conservative and insular church groups that enforce cutting ties with ex-members, only with 100% more vampires.

Loved it, especially the short story at the end!

This was an excellent book. The characters were unique and kept my interest. It was deeper and more serious than I expected. I was hoping for much more humor. It was lighthearted in spite of the subject matter, so that helped. I liked the characters. Lori Prince did a great job with them. I only wish Lori Prince would pronounce realization more normally instead of saying real-eye-zation. And she put the emphasis on the wrong syllable in dexterous--pronouncing it as dex-TAIR-ous instead of DEXterus. I can't really judge the writing since I only listened to the audiobook, but it seemed excellent.

great romance book

At first I thought I wasn't going to like the book because it was a slow burner on when the main character would let her partner know who she was. Turns out that her girlfriend had other powers. I really hope this author makes more books because I'd be one of the first ones to read it. I was sad to see that she only had the other short story that went along with that one.

Entertaining

There were parts of the books where I wanted to throttle the support characters because they were just not easy to like. Then I realized they are necessary for the overall flow of the story telling.

It still was entetaining to read through. The adaptation of the supernatural creatures are not the typical way other authors write the same old vampires and mytical lore. It is a nice change. The same old tortured souls sorta gets over used and it just lacks originality and imagination. I like the way the author adapted her supernatural creatures.

It was also sorta nice that there is a little bit more surprise at the end of the story. I wonder if there is gonna be another book to explore that bit at the end of the book.

Anyway, just read it. I am not the sort of book reviewer who will give away any parts of the story. Just read the book and you can make up your own mind if you like it or not.

so realistic and beautiful

Nothing in the book ever felt forced the spicy parts especially were had a lot of build up and the characters were just so good. Absolutely love this wish there was more <3

A really adorable story...

There is no way for me to describe this listen without being saccharine. I really liked the main characters and their growing connection. I also really liked the relationship between Alana and Tahira, with the latter being like the annoying little sister that Alana can't help but love.

While the story was kind of formulaic, the character development was really good, and the relationship between the main characters really drew me in. What really struck me was Alana's deep care for Robin as her attraction grows for her.

One of the reasons I like fictional audio books is narrators bring books to life and so far, one of the best narrators I've come across is Lori Prince. I really like her style, which really keeps me listening.

This definitely something to listen to after perhaps a heavy listen/read.
