Publisher's Summary

Number one New York Times best seller.

The blockbuster Jack Reacher series that inspired two major motion pictures and the upcoming streaming series Reacher.

New York City. Two in the morning. A subway car heading uptown. Jack Reacher, plus five other passengers. Four are okay. The fifth isn’t. And if you think Reacher isn’t going to get involved...then you don’t know Jack.

Susan Mark, the fifth passenger, had a big secret, and her plain little life was being watched in Washington, and California, and Afghanistan - by dozens of people with one thing in common: They’re all lying to Reacher. A little. A lot. Or just enough to get him killed. A race has begun through the streets of Manhattan, a maze crowded with violent, skilled soldiers on all sides of a shadow war. For Jack Reacher, a man who trusts no one and likes it that way, the finish line comes when you finally get face-to-face and look your worst enemy in the eye.

Take another thrill ride with Jack Reacher.

Abridgement?!!!

Why the hell is this abridged??? I didn't realize it until I got to the end and there was a credit for the abridgement! I did not see any other version on the list of books. Of course, since Amazon and their goddamned algorithms can't seem to list the various Reacher books in order, I have no way of knowing if there is an unabridged version. So, Amazon basically stole a credit from me in exchange for half of a book.

Un-American.

I have truly loved reading/listening to the Jack Reacher series, up until now. I have to admit I liked the plot and I felt for the most part the story moved along , but what was with the continued attack on President Ronald Reagan.? It almost seemed liked a personal vendetta where the former President was concerned. I just didn't care for it.

Infantile

A pretty shallow story with an overly dramatic reader. I returned this book. I won’t be downloading any more of Lee Child’s books.

To Me, The Least Compelling of Reacher Stories

This book was OK. But it seemed sort of shallow by comparison to most of the other Reacher stories. If you are a Reacher fan, of course you will want to read it. And you will enjoy it as well. But in my opinion, it just wasn't quite on par with the rest of the series to date.

Graphic violence

Would you try another book from Lee Child and/or Dick Hill?

I didn't like the voice of the reader. He sounded like some gangster, and my husband and I had to turn the volume off when the violence got too graphic to listen to. I didn't love it.

What could Lee Child have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Cut the graphic violence.

How could the performance have been better?

Get a reader who sounded more like the character should be.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Depression

The Reacher Novels

Would you listen to Gone Tomorrow again? Why?

All of the Reacher novels seem to be similar but they are enertaining and I have read them all.
