In this groundbreaking book, political historian Paul Kengor draws upon Reagan's legacy of speeches and correspondence, and the memories of those who knew him well, to reveal a man whose Christian faith remained deep and consistent throughout his more than six decades in public life. Raised in the Disciples of Christ Church by a devout mother with a passionate missionary streak, Reagan embraced the church after reading a Christian novel at the age of 11. A devoted Sunday-school teacher, he absorbed the church's model of "practical Christianity" and strived to achieve it in every stage of his life.

Amazing. A LOT of history I was unaware of.
Really interesting book. I can't believe this was on the "free rack". Very inspiring as a religious viewpoint. Super interesting from a historical viewpoint. There was a lot of world history going on during that era. This book captures it wonderfully.

Was great learning about the how, what, and why of his spiritual foundation. Great book, well written and well read. Will be getting another book by this author right now to finalize my Reagan readings, time for ‘A Pope and a President’

I read the book several years back this time I listened to it and “wow” it was even better the second time. America needs Reagan again; we can hope and pray that there are enough believers left that we’ll get one.

A great man and President
I was born in 1983 and was pleased to find out that year was deemed the year of the Bible by then President Reagan. What great charisma and focus he had. We need more young people to aspire in Faith and Trust in God’s Providence and Grace in our lives and in this Nation.
