Publisher's Summary

"That which doesn't kill me is going to wish it had."

Do you love hunting monsters? Dark worlds? Swords and sorcery?

Alex is a Glitch Hunter, member of a house of monster hunters that possess mysterious bracers allowing them to see the world with the interface of a video game. Even with the edge that offers, most Glitch Hunters die young, thrown by quests into areas of deadly conflict. Alex's first quest draws him to a city with a grisly past, and unless he can discern truth from lies in time, an even darker future.

A good start.

pros: The story is a unique one, which is refreshing. It should be noted that this book seems aimed at an older audience, but is not gratuitous. The combat system is a new take which I have yet to see. A very pleasant surprise is that the MC is not over powered at all. In fact he nearly died several times. This gives a sense of importance to his decisions. The narration was pretty spot on with a wide range of voices used. Cons: There could have been better character development. The characters are by no means shallow, or boring, but I feel the book would had been more engrossing if more time was spent developing a few of the characters that were introduced. The same could be said for more world building. There is so much room for world building that the author just did not take advantage of. Maybe in the next book though? overall: The book was enjoyable, and full of action. It was little shy on character development, and world building, but a solid listen overall (thanks to the narrator). I would definitely recommend this book.

unusual taken on litrpg

A interesting take on the genera. Mostly action packed slows down in the last hour or so. Not a fan of so much introspection don't get me wrong its need for the story but at the end several minutes per chapter is taken to examine the mcs feels.

I thought a glitch was like a discontinuity.

Not in this book. Lets throw everything we know about physics out the window and let a 1st level fighter walk on walls! No growth to the character and a never ending grind. If I wanted to grind, I'd sign up for WOW again. Good first try Skyler. Try again on a new idea. This one is original but doesn't fly. Dialogue works well and you have it down. But...the story is hard to grasp. Sorry you had to read this Doug. Lets catch you on a better plot line.

Great read

Amazing lit-RPG adventure in a dark, well constructed fantasy world with a touch of nice humor. Some elements remind me strongly of Witcher (the game more than the books). Really looking forwards to a sequel.

Keep it coming!

I picked this book up on a lark. I've listened to other books by the author but gave up because I thought they were by and large to short. I picked this one up and was surprised from the very start. it was a fun mad rush with a great spin on the hero. The author asked we let everyone know what we think and I'm thrilled that the author has chosen to write a book with a reasonable length! Keep them coming!
