Publisher's Summary

Following her heart is more dangerous than just falling in love....

Poisoned and left for dead, Bree's only hope is a heart of glass. She soon discovers the city is being tormented by the sister she left behind. With her trusted wolves by her side, Bree prepares herself for war, knowing it's the only way she can reclaim the city and restore order.

Sister against sister, wolf against wolf, everything is at stake, and the only thing that can persuade people to her side is to use the one thing she doesn't know how to control. Bree is determined to win, but is she ready to pay the price?

Glass Heart is a stand-alone urban fantasy with wolf shifters. It includes a low heat reverse harem romance.

Quick and fun

Glass Heart is a standalone urban fantasy quick read. This book has wolf shifters and magic. This audiobook is super short at only 2 hours and 4 minutes long.

Going into this book, I wasn't sure what to expect because, again, the book was 2 hours long. I was thinking, what can you really accomplish in 2 hours and what would even be the point. I was very pleasantly surprised. This was actually a complete story and it didn't feel rushed so kudos to the author for pulling that off.

This was my first experience with this author. I enjoyed the book so I would try another of her books sometime.

Glass Heart opens with the main character, Brianna, dying and her three wolf mates, Darius, Fillian, and Bier, saving her life by literally cutting out her heart and replacing it with a glass heart that is magic.

Once she recuperates from being poisoned and getting the new magic heart, she knows that she must challenge her twin sister to a fight to try to take back what is rightfully hers; her position as alpha over the wolf pack.

This is a fast paced and fun shifter book. I recommend it for those who are looking for something quick and light.

The narrator did a good job. She was clear and had several different distinct voices. This is good as an audiobook.

Enjoyable, quick listen

First, I listened to the audio and the narrator did a good job. Her actual voice was good, but her narration for some of the males sounded too childish.

I liked that the story gets right into it. Bree has been poisoned and is about to die when she is saved. She’s given a magical glass heart. Loved the magical elements and the shifter stuff. The romance was a bit too light for my liking; this is a reverse harem, but it felt more like companions that kiss a little. It might have something to do with not reading about them getting together originally; they are already together for the story we are reading, so I didn’t quite feel the emotional attachment. This a short story, so there wasn’t much time to delve deeper, but the story is entertaining and has some bits of action. Overall, I enjoyed the listen. I’d say this is a 3.5 rating, but I rounded up to 4 because it did have some interesting elements.

good story

Would have liked a little more background of the conflict between the sisters before the story begins. Thought the narrator could have had more inflection/emotion in her telling. but overall, I enjoyed the story

Amazing Retelling

This was an amazing Snow White retelling reverse harem! Bree has been poisoned and is on the brink of death when her three shifter mates cut out her heart and replace it with a magical glass one. After she recovers, she finds out that her sister is torturing the city she left behind and her and her harem must prepare for war. I enjoyed this sister rivalry unfold and the relationship she had with Bier, Darius, and Fillian. For such a short story, this book was fast paced, action packed, had character development, romance, a great plot and didn’t feel rushed at all.
Jessica did a great job with this narration! I enjoyed the different voices she used for each character and the amount of passion that she used. She brought every character and their emotions to life with her performance and kept me hooked until the end!

Perfect as always

Such a great spin on the story of Snow White. I really enjoyed how we are thrown into a shifter world and that Bree is the pseudo Snow White of the story. I really love how this author is able to put a complete story that is not rushed in such a quick read. While this book is a fast paced shifter book you will not be disappointed or feel like things are left out. The narrator did a good job with giving different distinct voices to the characters.

Short listen with great detail

Glass Heart was a relatively short listen that I was able to wrap up in a day’s commute. It also surprised me by how much was actually pushed into such a short time frame. The story doesn’t waste any time opening with Bree and the action. From there it dives straight into the tale of the evil sister. I was pleased at how much detail was provided and that the characters had more than just a passing surface to them. While there could have been much more depth on Bree’s men, I think that would have been a distraction from the story. This was a stand alone story but perhaps later stories will tell their tales.

I thought that the narrator, Jessica M. Hepburn did a wonderful job as Bree nailing the emotion down. When Bree was upset or recalling things, or just internal monologue, it was easy to feel like you were right there.

Fun short story

This was a really fun short story that I would have loved to see as novel length. I think I might have enjoyed a smaller scaled plot more than the trying to fit a large scale story in a short book. But it was still very enjoyable to listen to. And there was enough character development that I felt I got to know them enough to be invested in what happened to them.

Jessica did a fantastic job as narrator, and I would happily listen to her again.

I hadn't experienced either Laura Greenwood or Jessica Hepburn before this and all in all I felt like this was almost more of a sampler of the author and narrator. And now that I've had a taste, I'm interested in finding more books by them.

There is a saying that blood is thicker than water

Glass heart totally grips you from the beginning and then explains the situation as the story progresses. I found it original and interesting. There is a saying blood is thicker than water but is it? You can pick your friends but not your relatives. So true.
I do like this author and the narrator did a good job.

Good action packed book

This is a sibling rivalry storyline to get your teeth into. Great characters, however I do find myself wanting more from them. I feel like their story has just begun. Great narration from Jessica. Written well by Laura.
