Publisher's summary

Three broad themes are considered by the author, themes common to each listener who has lived long enough to consider the consequence of aging, while also valuing the savoring of spiritual considerations.

These succinct reads will address:

  • Aging, especially the senior end of the scale.
  • The process of transitioning from home ownership into the phenomenon of assisted living.
  • Insights into many observations of the Christian faith, ranging in diversity from contemplation of contemporary interpersonal relationships to those considering the person of God.

The "give me four minutes" request of the title of this audiobook emphasizes the author’s cogent capsule of thought concept. Every insight can be quickly heard in four minutes or less. It is intended that each offering will hold a truth that the listener can quickly hear, but will want to ruminate on to refresh their mind and spirit a few minutes longer than four.

This is not a work of fiction, but comes from the pen (iPad) of a boots on the ground, been there believer in the God of the bible. Kennedy Brown is as old as dirt, as one chapter in the audiobook recites. That claim comes from 90 plus years of life experience. His teen years were spent working the dirt of a Midwestern family farm. Those same years, he walked or rode a horse to catch the school bus to attend class with the 11 other classmates in his public high school.

Ultimately graduating university with a Juris Doctor, he has practiced law in Arizona and Hawaii, managed a large real estate company in Arizona, and started a bait and tackle business on an island in Florida. He and Janelle, his wife of 66 years, wrapped up their entrepreneurial approach to ministry by opening and operating a local Christian bookstore in northcentral Florida. Kennedy has drawn the insights offered in this audiobook from his cauldron of experience flavored with nearly 50 years of faith in Jesus (Messiah Yeshua).

Humble, Insightful, Instructional

Perhaps the easiest means to obtaining insights and instructions in how to age well. This collection of concise thought capsules is a wonderful anchor to the larger reality that what we are experiencing today is not the sum total of life. Understanding what came before (both in our own lives as well as the world around us) is an important component in our toolbox for dealing with all the vagaries of life. This is not a preachy collection of verse. This is a humble look at what shifts and changes with time. Some anticipated. Some unwelcomed. Some delightful. Ever mindful that this life is a journey and what you do with it, with what perspective you view it, will greatly impact what you experience days, months, and years down the road.

Sage, Insightful & Succinct

This easy listen fits perfectly into my stage of life right now. My life arc is just past that midpoint and finds me considering that I may have more years behind me than I do ahead. Kennedy's insightful reflections on aging have proven very helpful as I entire my next chapter.
