Publisher's Summary

I’m the right-hand man of the mafia king. She’s a girl with a past she’s desperate to hide.

But I need something from her. And I know she won’t help me. Not willingly. She’ll need some persuading.

Lucky for her, I can do that.

Something about this girl makes me curious, though, and it’s more than the scars that line her back. She’s on the edge of something. Something bad. She’s like a perfect, beautiful doll coming apart at the seams. And the last string is about to snap.

She thinks I’ll hurt her. Break her. But thing is, she’s already broken. And she and I, we’re two peas in a pod. She’s my match, the perfect opponent. She’ll fight me to the finish, but I’ll win. I always do.

Because I’m a man used to getting what I want. And what I want is her.

Author’s note: Giovanni is a stand-alone dark mafia romance set in the Benedetti Brothers Mafia world. It’s an emotionally gripping enemies-to-lovers romance with a hard-earned HEA.

AHHHH.. GIOVANNI, GIOVANNI, GIOVANNI

I don’t know how this awesome book initially got by me, I love Natasha Knight.. she always writes dark stories so well and gives them enough light for you to see the damaged people behind their masks, their pain, their passion and the possibilities for their futures. And Giovanni delivered it by the bucketful.

Two very damaged people.. a Mafia Boss and a once pampered Cartel Princess.. one is capable of breaking people - the other IS broken, but some how some way, this talented author manages to man handle, manoeuvre and mesh their broken world’s into something wonderful.. love. It’s a very bumpy ride of secrets, revelations, danger, acceptance, strength, retribution and a rebirth into the light. The chemistry is explosive, the sex is hot, the feels are endless, the tension is high, the hero is all kinds of bad.. and all kinds of lip-likin good too and the very damaged yet feisty heroine does have her ‘duh TSTL’ moments. Natasha’s dual POV plot also throws in drama, angst, violence, secrets, a villain or two and bloodshed and brain matter in amongst the passion and pleasures. Emilia has to let go of her past.. and Giovanni is going to slaughter because of it.

Worth a credit? Oh boy yep definitely.. Natasha (IMO) is the Queen of dark with her brooding, dangerous, possessive, alpha males who like to be in charge.. especially in the bedroom.. or kitchen.. or any wall.. or any surface.. Hell he doesn’t even need a surface!!! And this book, in the hand of two very talented narrators (.... ahhhh Aiden Snow), sprung to life, packed a punch, sizzled and cracked and became, for me, an unstoppable 5 star audiobook.

Nothing about this is consensual

Let’s say what’s really going on: the main character, a rape victim, gets repeatedly raped by the other main characters under the guise of dominant protector. She repeatedly says “no” and “stop” and gets forced into sex until she falls in love with him. This is not a steamy romance. This is uncomfortable, unsafe, and disturbing. Voice actors were great. Natasha Knight... rape is not sexy.

Giovanni

Narrator's were great. The two POV's were great as well. To me the female lead was just too weak, and she had no common sense. No will to fight, no will to stand her ground. Just no will to do anything but be bossed around and have sex. The male lead was just mean with no redeeming qualities. Just handsome and rich.

A deeply powerful, dark, intense and sexy book!

I loved every single moment of this book! The characters were complex and intense. The storyline was consuming and kept me enthralled from beginning to end. The romance between MCs was dark, sexy and so hot!!

I loved the narration for this book! Aiden Snow's deep sexy voice is so alluring. It is a perfect fit for this character. Not to mention the things it can do to a woman. OMG!! Kate's performance is spot on as well. The two of them together just make this a truly amazing performance.

Great Mafia Book!!!😍

Another great book by Nathasha Knight! Giovani's and Emelia's Journey is an emotional book. This book was raw and disturbing, in such a good way. The characters are incredible; I fell in love with them so fast! This book had me crying at times, and wanting to break my phone at others...lol. This book has everything I love in a mafia books. The narrators Kate Genevieve and Aiden Snow did a great job! They kept me glued to my phone until the end. I highly recommend this book!

The characters were frustrating and not in a good way🙄

The main female character was very frustrating I found myself having to take breaks because she was that annoying at times. She got herself into situations because she lacked BASIC common sense.
The main male character was very controlling and not the “rail me” kind. He could be misogynistic and his way of showing affection was... odd.

As a whole the book wasn’t bad but I do plan on refunding.
The reading were great though and I loved the voices.

Sexy and intriguing mafia romance

Dark and gritty, Natasha Knight starts out this spinoff of the Benedetti series with a bang. Giovanni, the son of Vincent, who we met in the Benedetti series is seeking Amelia's brother, Alessandro, and what better way to flush him out than with his sister. What he doesn't count on is the strength and will of Amelia. This couple is one of my favorites created by Knight. Giovanni is a strong, alpha male. Although gruff, it's impossible not be drawn him. He exudes protectiveness. Amelia can't help but be attracted to him. She has been to hell and back, and Giovanni makes her feel safe. Knight creates a dark world, full of evil yet passionate. It's suspenseful, keeps you on the edge of your seat and both makes you cringe and love. The back stories are just as engaging as the romance and the surprises just keep coming. It's true Natasha Knight, and I can't wait for the next in the series.

The choice of Aiden Snow for Giovanni could not have been better. Snow has a dark tone in his voice that brings this alpha male to life. You can hear the command, and feel the strength of his words with the delivery. I love his performance. To compliment his dominance, Kate Genevieve brings the vulnerable, yet strong voice to Amelia. I love her voicing, giving this performance a quality of constant fear yet a feeling of strength. It's a dream team for this dark mafia.

Another Great Book

I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end, there was nothing I would have changed. The story was captivating and the narrators did a great job of bringing the characters to life. Loved Giovanni’s protectiveness of EM ;must be a “bad boy” Italian thing🤤Now on to the next book 😊

Trigger warning would be helpful

If you can deal with the fact that the first few encounters between the hero and heroine are non-consensual and that sex is used as a punishment, then you’ll enjoy this book.

Dark doesn’t have to equal rape and abuse. Seriously. I’ve recently read another dark mafia series that was amazingly intense, however sex and rape were nowhere in that book, so I know it can be done.

Fab narrators, great story but missing the love

Rating: Narration 5, Story 3.5
I listened to the audio and both narrators were excellent, expressive and perfect for the characters. I loved both their voices.

I did enjoy the story, but unfortunately it's not one of my favourites by Natasha Knight. She's a go to author for me and I love the darkness and suspense of her stories, this one included. However I also adore the battle for love, even when dark and dangerous and not flowers and kittens. The drama of two people who shouldn't be together, finding their place with each other. Here I felt the chemistry was missing between Giovanni and Amelia. For all the horrors she's been through, she's a survivor but very broken. She gave so little resistance to Giovanni when he applied his dominance, until she finally cracked near the end. He's hard, strong, ruthless and dominant, like a good mafia boss should be, but he was quite cold, even to Amelia, especially as she (justifiably) struggled to trust him. That's what was missing, I didnt really feel the love, even when they said it which is a shame because the storyline was well paced and suspenseful.

Dark Dismal Disappointing Diegesis

This is Book 5 in this dark Series and was like a jigsaw with a piece missing: You can see the picture, you got almost all the elements but it's incomplete. Perhaps the author has run out of material to weave another tale?

Amelia one minute smart and brave, the next minute stupid and doing ridiculous things like trusting her demented brother and rushing off willy nilly into yet more danger. Giovanni, cruel, controlling and violent, through nothing logical finds he's caring for this damaged girl. Then bam, they're in love. The sex is violent, and continues violent till the end.

At times you feel the tension and excitement other books in this series generate, only to be floored by another incomprehensible scene which disrupts the flow. At no time do you feel a love connection building, or see how trust can be generated when each MC continually hides important life or death facts from the other and Giovanni keeps taking her gun and phone away. There is no way to contemplate how any HEA can be in their lives in their future, which left me feeling exasperated.

Fabulously narrated nonsense.

I did not enjoy this book.

Addictive Mafia Romance

Taking a chance on a new author AND new narrators at the same time is a big step got me, and it’s a step I’m so glad I took (I’m a wuss when it comes to trying new things), but I’ve got to say, the story and the narrators blew me away. Mafia romance is one of my favourite genres, dark mafia romance, even more so. That said, it wasn’t overly dark. It had the perfect mix of evil, bad, dirty and sexy, maybe not good for the moonlight and roses reader though. I love broken heroines, and I love the good, bad boys that try to fix them. Great writing, great story, great narration. I’ll be looking into more from this author.

A captivating story

I have read many of Natasha's books and this one does not disappoint. She did a great job with the character development and the storyline. The story grips you write at the beginning and keeps you hooked throughout. In this story we have a little bit of a mafia tie along with the love story and all the struggles that go along with those two being combined. I would say that Giovanni is your typical mafia man total alpha male which I really did like. Amelia our female lead character was such a strong woman I always love to see that in stories a little bit broken but still strong. overall I love the story and thank the narrators did a great job we totally recommend.

Brilliant storyline

Natasha sure knows how to write a hot Aplha. This has everything you will want. Action, adventure, hot steamy scenes, dirty talking, bossy men! I loved it. Aiden is perfect as Giovanni. Both narrators are great in this book.

Glad it was part of the unlimited section

Starting with the good. Both narrators were terrific and well suited to the characters.
The story was fine but I felt the author didn’t get there in really establishing a convincing transition to the emotional connection between the characters. They were enemies and then they were lovers. The plot includes a reason why the hero might fall for the girl but it didn’t work for me. I didn’t care about them as a couple.
Having said that it was entertaining enough for a free read.
