Publisher's Summary

With the past and future both in question, surrender is the only option to save the present.

There is no save and quit; there is only forward. And forward means deeper into a land without magic to face monsters and beasts in all forms.

Can Illume trust the new avatars who have logged into the world? For even a remote chance at finding the woman he loves, he'll have to travel further, push himself harder, and risk his very soul to get her back.

This time around, everyone seems to be trying their hand at taking down the Legend Online.

For those who love an uphill battle, mythological beasts and know the cheek-squeezing thrills of maneuvering the dangerous waters of online play, this one's for you.

So much of the Witcher game is in this.....

The Witcher games, I feel have a big influence on this book and completely different from the previous books. The leveling system, inventory, items used, and the monster all Witcher influenced. It’s not a bad thing just at times it was like “ hey I know where you got that idea from”. Good listen though.

Description/summary of book is wrong

Enjoyed the book! But y’all need to update the book summary, as it is inaccurate to the actual story.
Illume isn’t searching for “the woman he loves” he is searching for their friend, the NPC turned AI who in the previous book was flung into the new area, where magic isn’t available.
They are searching for her.

Either way enjoyed the change of game mechanics in the new area!

BY FAR THE WORST BOOK IN THE SERIES!!!!!

(SPOILERS AHEAD YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED)

This book completely throws away the progress of the first 4 books in the first 4 they fight for the equality of all the races and succeed until the end where they delete the entire army that went to fight for them, fathers, mothers, sisters, sons all deleted the brushes over it likes it nothing, THEN the main character get a chance to play the dlc which moves him somewhere completely new which drops him back to level 1 his dragon doesn't even get to been seen heard nothing he just forgets it like he didn't spend years with it like if it was a rat, the Phoenix the poor Phoenix finds love after so many years just have her lover be deleted in front of her then poof the stops caring about like if he didn't write a book practically about her but no she get to stay broken and forgotten. Then the new leveling system is a absolute joke it requires 50 exp to go from level 1 to level 2 he literally fights 2 gaint mythical creatures that don't level him up then he turns i a quest gains 50 exp then levels up what about the exp for the creatures where did it go then he needs 50 exp to go level 2 to level 3 he defeats some enemies that give him 50 exp but he doesn't level up how does that work then he's kill some people earns 50 exp then levels up but what about the 50 exp he all ready earn the level system broken I hate this book. the first 4 books he fights the order of light so all races can live in peace travels to the dlc world and humans are dominant and all other races are forced to go into hidden and if the female well you know the horrible things that are happening to them because we all love to be ENTERTAINED by that horrible shit(SARCASM) why these little D author enjoy writing women suffer so I don't know

Another review

What a cliff hanger at the end. Even now I’m still intrigued by this story and the performance is very enjoyable.

Great story but must have previous books..

This series of books definitely continues from one to the next. I would not suggest purchasing without listening to previous books.

One thing that bothers me: The author's chosen words. while not officially incorrect grammar, they still drove me crazy. Ex: kneeled (instead of knelt), leaped (instead of leapt)... You get the point.

Phoned in

I have genuinely enjoyed this series up until this book. The story wasn’t bad and I enjoyed the mental turmoil in it. The main issue I have with the book that maybe I just didn’t lick up on in the others was the blatant use of other popular character series. I picked up on aquaman several times and the famous gladiator scene of the wheat fields during the epilogue. I know there are others but those are the only ones that come to mind.

When it’s dialog between characters references something in their former lives that’s one thing but when it’s written as their own content that’s not good write and verges on plagiarism.

What a great series of books!

They should definitely change the summary of the book description. Walked into this thinking one thing and found it to be inaccurate in the book itself. But in a good way. Overall a terrific series from start to finish.
