This sounds good, but bad advice!!

The idea you can create a perfect tech pack before a sample is made or before a conversation with a technical designer about actually constructing a garment is ridiculous. The author also states that hiring a freelancer to create the tech pack will save you money. This is under the false assumption that a freelance tech pack developer actually has pattern drafting, sampling, and technical design experience…which is like finding a unicorn in the Amazon rainforest in 3 minutes.

Less than 2 chapters in, this is already bad advice.

So Informative

This book was amazing. I’ve worked in the fashion industry but didn’t have all the information I needed. I couldn’t find anything as in-depth as this anywhere. I’m in the process of deciding whether to manufacture locally or overseas (in Vietnam) and the information in this book is priceless. It’s given me somewhere to start and somewhere to go. Thank you for creativity these books!
