Story
When you are planning to go to a graduate school, you will probably be required to take the GRE (Graduate Record Exam) test. It is the most commonly needed admission test for grad school. Similar to the ACT or SAT, the GRE test is a broad assessment of your analytical writing, verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and critical thinking skills. The test is of all the skills developed over the years. The purpose of every GRE test, of course, is to aid the graduate schools in deciding whether you have the right credentials for the program.

Horrible Mispronunciation
The reader of this book clearly did not read a pronunciation guide for the words that she did not know. The words with French roots are not even attempted and some of the easiest words are mispronounced. Some examples include Bowler as Bowel-er and Barrage is pronounced Bare-Age. I'm really disappointed. I was hoping that I could play this during my commute from work, but I cannot stomach it. Save your money/credits and look elsewhere!

The mispronounced words abound
I found myself deciphering the correct word from the definition as MANY words are not pronounced correctly. Words that end in D are pronounced with a hard "t" sound. The emphasis on syllables is "off" on words as well.
After the 3rd chapter I focused on how often the words were not said correctly versus new vocabulary.
There should have been more emphasis on pronouncing words using the widely used/accepted and alternatively as it is in the book.

List of Words ONLY- SO MANY MISPRONOUNCED
There is nothing ground breaking or helpful about this "book" as it would be just as easy and FREE to look up a definition list for most used vocabulary words on the GRE. The entirety of this "book" is only a long list of words, seemingly recited by someone in a very echoey room, and she mispronounces so many of them Ia questioning the definitions of words I have not heard. I thought there would be some sort of exercises as part of this but I waa wrong. Unless you REALLY need to listen to words I would find another study tool.

'The two foes of human happiness are pain and boredom.' Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860) was one of the most influential philosophers of the 19th century because his humanistic, atheistic, if pessimistic views chimed with a new secularism that was emerging from a Western society dominated by religion. Despite his rather forbidding image (and a few outdated views), he is one of the most approachable German philosophers, and this is certainly evident in these two key works, The Wisdom of Life and Counsels and Maxims.

Story
Written by Arthur Schopenhauer, The Wisdom of Life is an essay from Schopenhauer's last work, Parerga and Paralipomena. Schopenhauer's essay is a detailed description on exploring what human behavior is and what it should be. Schopenhauer also argues the “art” of obtaining the greatest possible pleasure and success in life through the theory of eudaemonology. He takes a unique approach on many important philosophical questions, including whether human life corresponds, or could possibly correspond, to the conception of existence itself.

Story
Mary Wollstonecraft, often described as the first major feminist, is remembered principally as the author of A Vindication of the Rights of Woman (1792), and there has been a tendency to view her most famous work in isolation. Yet Wollstonecraft's pronouncements about women grew out of her reflections about men, and her views on the female sex constituted an integral part of a wider moral and political critique of her times which she first fully formulated in A Vindication of the Rights of Men (1790).

Story
It is popularly supposed that a greater prosperity for individuals or nations can only come through a political and social reconstruction. This cannot be true apart from the practice of the moral virtues in the individuals that comprise a nation. Better laws and social conditions will always follow a higher realization of morality among the individuals of a community, but no legal enactment can give prosperity to, nay it cannot prevent the ruin of, a man or a nation that has become lax and decadent in the pursuit and practice of virtue.
