A different kind of true crime, this book details various incidents, criminal and medical, from the perspective of the 911 call center. Actual calls, and experiences of the real first responders are detailed as they work to save lives and keep the community safe, altough the texts are inspired by, and not nescessarily complete transcripts of the real events.

The stories are varied, about everything from medical emergencies and car chases to murders and other crimes, but also some of the lighter sides of this work.

The narrator is clear and easy to understand and listen to.

If you've ever wondered what a day in the life of a 911 operator is like, this is the book for you.

It is told in a conversational manner, as if I was talking to the author at a dinner party, rather than a usual true crime police procedural.

But, while it contains light-hearted sometimes comical stories, don't be fooled, there are plenty of hard core and sob inducing moments that make your heart yearn for people to be more caring towards others.

I highly recommend this audiobook, the stories fly off the page with a narrator who's voice is a perfect balance to switch from lighthearted to gravitas.

I think it's an amazing insight to our forgotten first responders. The author is relatable, full of sass, and does not hold back. It is both informative in giving you an insight to behind the phone as the 911 center, but also filled with humor and heart.

So good!

Fascinating tales from the author, who used to be a dispatcher. There is quite the collection of tales. Each is uniquely intriguing in its facts and I loved every minute.

Great to listen to it's almost like a podcast. This has a lot of funny stories or sidelines. Some are very serious others more light hearted. It definitely gives you a great look at what a 911 operator deals with. The good, the bad and the ugly. I really enjoyed this behind the scenes.
