good overall

I enjoyed this one so much, and though I really enjoyed the first one book in the series also, I personally liked this second one better. I connected with the fmc more so it just hit me deeper. I love all the characters and it was honestly just a beautiful book. I wish I had more to say but I don't lol sorry, it was just a really nice and fun easy read. solid 4⭐

Great story, great romance. I didn’t read the first in the series, but will now. This is an excellent stand alone. It would be a great read even without the romance. It’s a home run with it.

LOVE IT

I bought this as soon as I finished the first and I wasn’t disappointed. It was just as good as the first book!! I really like her characters and the story is so easy to listen to.

Thistle Grove always fun, its residents eh

I just couldn’t get on board with either character. Thistle Grove is a wonderful place with so many layers, but these two were hard to root for. Narration was great though!

Mostly good but a tad unsatisfying

MMC stayed hard to like all the way till the end. Wish the “growth” in the story wasn’t so one sided to the FMC. Homeboy deserved a little more humbling too for the story to feel equitable. This is the only book of the series I’ve read and unfortunately, none of the other mentioned characters really make me want to seek out their stories. Really cool magic/world building, tho.

Not as good as book one

The romance parts felt clunkier than book one and overall didn’t mesh as well with the rest of the story. It felt somewhat forced and inappropriate. The fact that every character is an alcoholic gets a little old too. It’s one thing to have a character or two that’s an alcoholic, but with everyone being an alcoholic, it gets monotonous.

Fun book

The story was good and narrator was excellent. Fun to listen to. Would like to hear the other stories in the series.
