"If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the results of a hundred battles.” (Sun Tzu, fifth-century BCE)

Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy, the hero of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, has his world turned upside down when his character, of which he is particularly proud, is called into question by those whom he trusts. Will he learn from his mistakes or remain his own worst enemy? When he discovers a secret which could destroy not only the reputation of his beloved sister but threatens her very life, he can no longer hide behind his mask of social indifference. Dismaying circumstances will test the strength of his personal beliefs and convictions as well as his devotion to family and friends as a rival from his past determines to ruin him and take everything Darcy holds dear. Out of the flames of adversity, Miss Elizabeth Bennet, once scorned, becomes a beacon of hope. Can love grow from adversity? Is happiness possible?

In this full-length novel set in Regency, England, true friendships are made, enemies are revealed, and happily ever after is on the horizon. Or is it....

Zimmerman was excellent as always. the story was quite intriguing and well thought out. Elizabeth was a little more stubborn than I would normally think her to be but it didn't harm the story at all. Darcy was a little more indignant and quick to... well anything really, but again this didn't harm the story. both sight exaggerations of their characters added to the fun. I will enjoy listening to this one again

quite enjoyed it

I enjoyed all of it (except wily Wickham)! Lydia's informative put down of Darcy, The growth to love of Elizabeth and Darcy realizing that her attitude and desires were correct. Even how Lady Matlock encouraged him to propose during the waltz.

How Darcy learned about Elizabeth, his sister, and even himself and grew to be the darling we all know and love is a journey worthy of repeated trips. Stevie Zimmerman makes it so very a sweet one.

I like that we get to see Darcy overcome his “Pride and Prejudices” to become the man he needed to be to earn Lizzie’s love.

Accepting Responsibility

One of the Best Scenes is between Lydia and Darcy on the terrace where she takes him down a peg — or 5 pegs! This Darcy is the biggest Prig and Arrogant Ass, but fortunately he does improve before too long, and continues to improve so by the end, he’s worthy of Elizabeth. Love Stevie Z.
