Elizabeth Bennet has found contentment in her new life, assisting her uncle Sir Edward Gardiner at his luxurious new hotel in Sanditon. Elizabeth is looking forward to an eventful summer with her friends, but her plans become schemes when she comes to the aid of a new visitor in her idyllic seaside community: Fitzwilliam Darcy.

In the meantime, Lady Catherine has her own decided opinions to shout at Darcy, Charlotte — now Lady Parker — is intent on solving a minor mystery, Georgiana hides a dark secret while Richard seeks an heiress to woo, and Austen heroines Emma Knightley and Marianne Dashwood arrive in Sanditon to play their own roles in a romance that captivates all of Sanditon with one question: will they or won’t they?

A Darcy & Elizabeth Pride & Prejudice Variation with Colonel Fitzwilliam, Georgianna Darcy, Uncle Gardiner, and Charlotte Lucas. Although the story takes place at Sanditon, listeners need not be familiar with the story, or any of the characters to follow the narrative.

Amazing story full of twists and turns

This story is a delight!! I loved the storyline of EB moving to the seaside to recover from her sadness over a family loss. This storyline, although completely different from canon, featured a strong, intelligent Elizabeth who seized an opportunity to both help her family and embrace some independence, utilizing her intelligence and lively nature in the process. I thought it was very well contrived. The FWD + AdB storyline was frustrating at times to listen to because I wanted to reach into the story and say open your eyes!! (this is a good thing, because it meant the author did an amazing job of building up that storyline). The rest of the cast of characters was so fun, and the way they weaved thru the story was masterful. I especially like the way she incorporated the Dashwoods, Emma & Knightly and others from JA's books. I think this is one of the best that I've listened to where the author tried to do that. The way they fit into the story felt really natural, and their storylines all felt true to their characters from their own stories. This book is really long, which I LOVE, it could have been longer in my opinion, I wanted a much longer epilogue with a continuance of all the other characters stories. I was so sad when it ended.

I can't recomment this story enough, it's really, really well written! and no need to really say this, but Ben jFife did an excellent job as usual. This will be one of my new favorites in this genre.

Too contrived and trite

So far from canon and the time period as to be just another silly bodice buster. Regretting my purchase.
