What a joy to listen to!

It immediately starts funny! Oh how I love this lighthearted, fun style! And it sure helps having a fantastic narrator who really brings the story to life. She does the different voices crazy well and they’re still understandable. Doing sound effects that really raised the level to a very high standard and added so much to my enjoyment. But that giant spider oooh uugghhhh lol.

The conversations between Jolene and police dog Daisy continue to be so much fun!
Favorite quote: “Nothing to see here, just a woman and a dog exchanging insults.”

Highly recommend!

What a Wicked Web We Weave

Favorite pet psychic Jolene is called in on a case involving death by spider venom in the fashion industry. But was the victim actually bitten by her familiar, a spider? Trust Jolene to crack the case in this web of deceit! A fun, breezy listen, just perfect for a summer afternoon!

Fun, unique story

The author has created a fun unique world; a magical paranormal world. The heroine, whp has lost her magical abilities, but can still talk to animals, helps the police solve the murder.

A peak behind sweatshops and creative espianage

I love this series. Erin weaves a very compelling story as a fallen from grace lawyer now in a magical slum becomes a police consultant. It has the best parts of murder mysteries mixed with the best parts of a magical world. As a recent law grad, I also love the legal references. This mystery has a good hook and keeps you guessing along the way as interesting people are introduced. The story even gets around the gritty downside of audio mysteries by having its own local sets of curses so that profanity isn't off putting or even horrible. There is no traditional profanity and even my kids love to hear the story about Joleen :)

This captures the depth of sweatshops and indentured servitude and expands it into a gripping mystery.

Fantastic

Another fantastic book by Erin Johnson. This time Jolene has to help Peter with another murder. A sweatshop owner is poisoned. It appear by her on familiar, a spider. Jolene has to speak to the spider to find out what happened. It turns out is was a murder by someone else and not the familiar. Because the spider is dying because the witch died. This series is full of suspense and humor. This book kept me laughing all the way through. I look forward to the next book in this series. I received this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

The narrator, Hannah Somerville, does a fantastic job.

Another hit

Another great book in the Magic Market Mysteries. This time Peter asks Jolene to interview a giant spider that is a familiar to a witch. A witch that's dead from spider venom. It looks like an open and shut case at first but the spider reminds Jolene, if her witch dies, so does the spider. These books are great fun and Jolene and Peter are getting a little closer. Too bad she holding back some pretty big secrets. Off to the next book in this series. Hearing the voices the narrator makes for animals and insects is hilarious too.
