Publisher's Summary

Paris...City of lights, City of love...City of drama!

Two years have passed since Dominique Laroche was elected president of France at the end of French Kissing: Season Three. She and Steph are living together at the Elysée, but their relationship is strained by the demands of Dominique's job.

When a rising star of the opposition proposes a new law that would affect lesbians' right to have children, Dominique is torn between her personal feelings and her party's political line.

Feminist radio host Aurore Seauve is advising the opposition on the new law proposal but finds herself more caught up in the intrigue at the Elysée than she wants to be, not in the least because of her interest in Dominique's uptight chief of staff, Solange.

Zoya Das has moved from Sydney to Paris to be with her new love, Camille, and is finding it difficult to settle into her new country, new language, and new job. Meanwhile Camille is finding out the hard way that not all her colleagues are comfortable with an out and proud lesbian at work, even if she is friends with the president.

Relationships will be tested, loyalties will be questioned, and assumptions will have to be set aside as both familiar and new characters navigate the turbulent waters of love - and politics.

Warning: This title contains sensual language, ladies making love, overconsumption of French wine, and heated discussions on feminism and the right to orgasm.

Bring on Season 5!!!

Hmmm... 3.5 stars

While this was my least favorite season, I still enjoyed it and wasn’t ready for it to end. I felt like it was very rushed, especially near the end, and there were many small things that were mentioned but never followed up on such as the hen party for Claire. We also got nothing else on Dominique with her kids after the hospital situation. No spoilers! Plus, most all of the previous MC were absent from virtually all of this one except Dominique and Steph. There were musings of a bridezilla, but we got 0 wedding planning moments.

It felt like maybe HB had to get this one out to meet a deadline and the story kind of suffered for it. I wanted so much more time with Solange and Aurore. I felt like we were gypped out of their story.

Nonetheless, I still enjoyed it for the most part. I listened to the first three in the series through Audible’s romance package. This was the first one of the seasons I purchased, and I went ahead and got the book to read along with when I was able. I must say, if I had only read the first 3 without listening I would have totally butchered most of the character names! I will go back and buy seasons 1-3.

The only thing that kind of put me off was the Zoya/Camille interaction. While most of the characters are a decade or more older than I am, I still enjoyed the story and could relate to them. After all, I personally have a thing for older women having dated as much as 15 years my senior (I was 20 and she 35 at the time). However, and I mean NO disrespect whatsoever, I wasn’t turned on by the sex between Camille and Zoya. And this may sound a little harsh, but I couldn’t help it-all I kept thinking when they were intimate was “eww grandma sex!” This may have been due to the narration.

Again, I mean no disrespect and hope this doesn’t offend anyone! Grandmas need love too!! I’m just not too sure I want read about it. 😅 I don’t have any kids, but I hope when I get to that grandmotherly age (50 something I’m guessing) I still want to be doing it! I hope I have a libido like Cami. I just can’t say I wanna read about it right now. My mother is in her 50s, so maybe I’m not impartial.

I don’t know if I missed a mention of her age or not-and the narrator made her granddaughter sound really young-so to get past that I had to consider that if Cami had her daughter at, say 20, and her daughter also gave birth at 20 and the granddaughter is at most 5 or 6, then that’s not bad at all. I just wish AC hadn’t read her character with that old-ish sounding voice. It made me think of, well, somebody’s grandmother.

Other than that, and considering this installment didn’t seem to have as much sex in it as the first 3 anyway, it was still a very enjoyable read. And I still highly recommend this series and will be acquiring season 5 if and when it’s released. I just hope HB takes her time with it and brings back some of the old while introducing us to some new.

Fingers crossed she gets the High Rise collection narrated (by an appropriate narrator) ASAP so I can listen while I reread it! AC is an okay narrator- not the best, by far, but not the worst either- just average. They could have chosen someone with a natural French accent. That would have bumped the French Kissing audio version up significantly! I think even having someone British read this series would have been a lot better. Then again, I have a major weakness for English accents. 🥰

I already have about half of the Pink Bean series. I might continue on with that one in the meantime. Again, I think a better narrator should have been used (a true Aussie), but I guess it beats having to wait until I can sit down and actually read the books. (Audible has so ruined me!)

Happy listening everyone!!

Love love love this series!

This series is the best! Season 4 was a nice wrap up to the whole. I love the direction they took the characters and also how they brought out lying characters to the light. It was nice to enjoy the depth of different characters. I hope the series doesn't end, I'd love to continue the Saga! I look forward to the rest of the author's books!

Awesome

Once again Harper delivered. As we went back to Paris for the fourth season it was not anything like I expected it to be. The storyline was Devine. I could actually feel the passion that Harper put into writing this one. Loved every new character that was introduced. And Abby Craden is the best ever to narrate these books she makes them they much more delicious

Mon Dieu...

This is a great season, I really enjoyed this book, it took me some time to relax into it, I was so worried for Abby Craden’s narration. She is a great narrator but completely unsuited for this book, she straggled with the French names and the French accent, her Australian accent was too pronounce. But once I got over it, i could enjoy the story and the narration the way that should be enjoyed.
Ms Bliss you have done it again, and rumor is that a 5th season is on its way... I am looking forward to that one.

Of Course, it's Perfect!

it didn't take long to get back into all the amazing characters from French Kissing. I really enjoyed every character's story. I'm a Stephanie fan. I usually want her to leave her President girlfriend but I'm slowly accepting them together. LOVED the Solange story!!! I look forward to hearing more about her in Season 5 (hoping). This audio book was just about perfect. all their stories flowed nicely and Abby Craden's always perfect at making so many distinguishable, and yet all sexy-sounding voices. sad it had to end.
