Two women lose the man they love. All they have left is each other.

Sophie's life is turned upside down when her partner, Ian, dies in a tragic accident. The only one who can understand her devastation is Ian's stepmother, Dolores. Together, they try to make sense of their loss and rebuild their shattered lives. While their shared grief brings them closer, it also takes their relationship in an unexpected direction. Where does sorrow end and romance begin? Or has Ian's death blurred the lines too much?

If you love deeply emotional lesbian romance with a twinge of controversy, don't miss this intense but hopeful novel by chart-topper Harper Bliss.

Not what I expected. A wonderful and in depth take on grief and the way love can be born in so many different ways.
Also insanely sexy.

You know, sometimes you just stumble upon a book that truly leaves its mark, and for me, that's "In the Distance There Is a Light." I've honestly lost count, but I've picked up and devoured this story at least five times now, and every read feels like discovering something new.

The author does such an incredible job of pulling you into a profound journey through grief, seen through the eyes of its two central characters. I remember being particularly struck by the raw, palpable trauma of the driver responsible for the accident – it was depicted with such vivid honesty that I genuinely felt myself walking in his shoes, experiencing his pain firsthand. The writing is just phenomenal; it makes everything feel so incredibly real and deeply relatable, almost like you're right there with them.

And that ending... wow. When the two main characters eventually find love with each other, it’s not something you’d necessarily expect going in, but by the time you reach that point, it feels completely earned and utterly understandable. There was absolutely no room for judgment in my mind; it just felt like an authentic, beautiful culmination of their individual paths towards healing and connection. It’s definitely a book that stays with you long after you've turned the last page.

The ending... wow. When the two main characters eventually find love with each other,

The phrase "Love is love" takes on a whole deeper meaning is this emotional roller coaster. Finding love, being able to hold on to it and letting it heal all while dealing with one of the most painful emotional experiences one could go through made a surprisingly wonderful read. Very well written and preformed in the audio version.

Beautiful & eye opening

Bliss knocked it out of the park again! This age gap romance has such a unique premise. Writing it in the first person was perfect. It was outstanding to hear Sophie’s inner dialogue, grief, anger at loss, self realizations, and willingness to overcome fears and what other people would think of their relationship. I enjoyed the narrator and thought she did a very good job with the main character voices. Definitely a book I will listen to again, and I rarely do that. I highly recommend adding it to your library.

Fantastic and complex
