Publisher's summary

Following his explosive #1 New York Times bestseller, Red Notice, Bill Browder returns with another gripping thriller chronicling how he exposed Vladimir Putin's campaign to steal and launder hundreds of billions of dollars from Russia—and how Putin is willing to kill anyone who stands in his way.

When Browder’s young Russian lawyer, Sergei Magnitsky, was beaten to death in a Moscow jail in 2009, Browder cast aside his business career and made it his life’s mission to pursue justice for Sergei. One of the first steps of that mission was to uncover who had killed Sergei and profited from the $230 million corruption scheme that he had exposed. As Browder and his team tracked the money that flowed out of Russia—through the Baltics and Cyprus and on to Western Europe and the Americas—they discovered that Vladimir Putin himself was one of the beneficiaries of the crime.

After Western law enforcement agencies began freezing the money, Putin retaliated. He and his cronies set honey traps for Browder, hired agents to chase him around the globe, murdered more of Browder’s Russian allies, and enlisted some of the West’s top lawyers and politicians in an attempt to bring Browder down. Putin will stop at nothing to protect his wealth and power. As Freezing Order reveals, Browder’s campaign was a main impetus for Putin’s intervention in the 2016 US presidential election.

At once a financial caper, an international adventure, and a passionate plea for justice, Freezing Order is a stirring morality tale about how one man can take on one of the most dangerous and ruthless villains in the world.

Red Notice Part II —- The Empire Struck Out

Red Notice was going to be a hard act to follow. But Browder nimbly and grippingly did so. Not to say that the real life Bond Villains threatening him did not give him plenty of material to work with. These villains aren’t just Russians, either. Many are stateside … and one lived in the White House for four years. If you want to understand how Russia became a kleptocracy and why it’s attempting to control western governments through agitprop and assassination read (or listen to) Brower’s books. You will have a hard time putting them down (or turning the audio versions off).

A Must but start with Red Notice

Could not stop listening. It was eye opening and captivating. You should start by listening to Red Notice as this book is more or less a sequel.
Bill Browder is a man on a mission to avenge the death of Sergei Magnitsky. He is smart, courageous and determined.

Chilling, fascinating, powerful

Browder’s timely sequel to Red Notice is written with brutal honesty, uncovering sinister and illegal elements of many governments, particularly Purim’s Russia. Sadly some Americans are on this list; fortunately most are not. This non-fiction work is an audio “page turner.” Adam Grupper’s narration is flawless. I admire Browder’s tenacity and courage. I strongly recommend this book.

Interesting story

The story could be told without the anti Trump narrative this is where it starts going in the end chapters. I'm not a huge fan of the former president just didn't feel like listening to that narrative for the 1000th time in the last few years.

Couldn’t turn it off!

Bill Browder tells the story that includes everything in Red Notice and the aftermath. I commend him on his dedication to put a stop to Russia’s money laundering and to avenge the death of his colleague, Serge. All efforts to silence him were thwarted one way or another. Being a Dad & a husband did not deter him even though his life was on the line. This book is riveting and more than I could have imagined! Cheers to Senator Grassley & The Daily Show for giving Bill the exposure he needed. Great read and now I’m faced with the challenge of finding anything as interesting as this!

Matches Red Notice excellence

There’s only one BIG issue with this book. You may find yourself listening cover to cover without stopping. Cheers to another amazing book, well written and timely.

Disappointing

Unfortunately his obvious lean in US politics and his use of false reports written by people who he puts down for writing what he claims are false reports about him to make his book a Trump hit piece brings into question everything else that he says. I am glad for the magnitsky ack and what it has accomplished but I am afraid that it only scratches the surface
