I will be thinking about this one for a while. not a simple book by no means

We need more narrators like this

The book itself is a work of art and the narrator did an amazing job bringing it to life

A Long Story!!

This is a classic, of course, and with good reason! Quite an epic that says so much, I’m afraid I was only able to grasp a fraction of it! Not to mention all the Russian names to keep track of (I couldn’t!). Nonetheless, obviously written by a Master wielding a mighty pen.

Bears listening to more than once and reading it in print would probably be most helpful toward gaining a deeper understanding. One could spend a lifetime studying this tomb!!

The Idiot

Expertly read. A great story I read many many moons ago. But it still has the power and force of words and place. I'd give it 100 stars if I could. Magnificent!

excellent reading. this is also a very good value.

this is one of my favorite books. the Easter was clear, engaging, really perfect. excellent book to read for Disability studies in literature.

It can hardly get any better

A novel, and its audio performance, there at the very top. Dostoyevsky is the pinnacle of character portrayal that he manages to convince the reader of his impartiality and his characters' independence. Moreover, he can simply make you laugh and cry and shudder just like that.
I love Constance Garnett's translation language, very true to the time of the original book.
The performance is simply outstanding.
A feast for the senses.

Good but not Great

This book has a interesting story and wonderful characters, however it goes on about this that have nothing to do with the story. Adding to the fact that the 2 part of the story has no bearing to the plot. A good but not great book.

We all should be Prince Myshkin.

We all should be Prince Myshkin. I didn't know what to expect -- this is my 4th Dostoyevsky book in a very short period of time. I think Prince Myshkin is one of my favorite characters from fiction now. The first half of the book was Soo absolutely wonderful ... I'm still digesting the second half. As with most Dostoyevsky books, half the value comes from the digestion!
