Fun, fright and games

A good mystery with characters we care about. Good storytelling and twists that keep us guessing.

The narration is excellent and engaging.

We look forward to the next in the series.

Had to quit

Had to quit after a few chapters. The story was fine, but the narration was terrible.

Fun legal thriller/super sibilant narrator

I enjoy the legal thriller series, the super hero character and the fast paced story. But the narrator has such an over emphasis of her “s” that it was a little difficult for me to listen to at first. I thought she had a lisp - it was so distracting. Now that I’ve listened to a few of the books in the series, I’m hooked to the books and will see it through to the end. However, after this I will seek to about this voice actor for future books.

Odd turns of phrase. Non sequitur or unreasonable reactions to circumstances

I liked that it was set in Houston. Mostly believable location details but it seemed like anyone could enjoy it. Not written just for Houstonians.

Don’t bother

The story was stupid. The evidence in the case was never developed. I would not waste my time reading this book.
