Publisher's Summary

I was living in darkness. Cold and alone, I was gripped by the agony of loss and grieving for an existence I no longer believed I could have. Then he appeared in my life and I thought that maybe, just maybe, I’d been gifted with another chance at happiness. That I might be allowed the privilege of loving and caring for another man.

That I could have my very own boy....

A new beginning is more than Malcolm ever dared wish for.

Now that Malcolm has claimed Seth as his boy, he’s determined to be the perfect Daddy for the man he adores. Whatever his boy needs, he’ll make sure he gets it. But more than that, he’s sworn in his heart to protect him with his life. Seth’s bastard of a father and the twisted church that abused his boy had better stay away from them — or else.

Seth has discovered comfort and safety in his Daddy’s arms.

Finally, Seth accepts that a life filled with joy is possible. He believes that love is what matters more than anything and that he has nothing to be ashamed of. However, the demons of his past still taunt him, lurking in the shadows of his mind where they try and snatch away his happiness. Sometimes it seems as if his lingering fears will never be vanquished.

And sometimes, being afraid is a warning that should be heeded....

Note: For the Love of a Boy is the continuation of Malcolm and Seth's journey of love, redemption and healing in the Father series trilogy. The first book, In the Name of the Father, should be read prior to this one. However, you can be assured that none of the books in the Father series end on a cliffhanger and that this age gap, Daddy/boy series with lots of hurt/comfort contains a sweet forever after.

Father Series listening order:

  • In the Name of the Father
  • For the Love of a Boy
  • Now and Forever

Triggers: References to past child abuse, a scene of on-page violence.

Morticia Knight AWESOME series continues!

Oh, my goodness gracious! Morticia Knight keeps up the very fine work she initiated with 'In the Name of the Father, Book 1' of the Father series. We find that Malcolm (daddy) and Seth (boy) have solidified their relationship, each filling a need for the other that is so beautifully depicted and described in the books. Seth is still recovering from the severe abuse he suffered as a child in one of the worse churches I've ever read about in fiction, and that's saying something! (The LGBTQ+ community has suffered terribly from the attitudes, opinions, and doctrines of the church. And the toxicity has found its outlet in literature!) Malcolm's commitment to keeping Seth safe and happy after all he's endured is wonderfully endearing. But an old evil finds its way back into Seth's new world and, thank goodness, that terror is beautifully and triumphantly resolved. Nick J. Russo's performance as perfect as ever. He handles the story with such tenderness and sensitivity. What a joy to hear him read book 2 of this series as well.

The Next Chapter in Seth and Malcolm's Love Story

The ‘Father’ series by Morticia Knight continues Malcolm and Seth’s journey of healing and happiness in a Daddy/boy relationship. Seth is learning to cope with the anxieties that are the result of his abusive upbringing, with Malcolm there to nurture and support him along the way.

This second book of the series sees Seth and Malcolm’s relationship grow even more solid. The Daddy/boy dynamic evolves as their needs change. Seth is becoming more confident and comfortable with himself. The book delivers an enjoyable glimpse into the next chapter of Malcolm and Seth’s wonderful love story.

Nick J Russo’s narration couldn’t be more perfect. I love every aspect of his performance in this series, especially his delivery of the dialogue. He does an excellent job at interpreting Knight’s story.

Recommended.

You are my devotion

It always break my heart when I hear or read about these conversion camp horror stories. I really can’t fathom how parents could do that to their children. That being said, I am really glad to have listened this book.

Seth and Malcom continued their journey to love and living life to the fullest in this story. Seth is trying his best to become a human wholly and and Malcom has devoted himself to his previous boy and help him overcome his traumas.

This was fun, heartwarming, sexy and very enjoyable. Could be a bit angsty at times but all that bittersweet angst was worth it. NJR did an absolutely fabulous job of narrating this beautiful story. Loved it.

Malcolm & Seth

This is the continuation of the first book and we get to see how both Malcolm and Seth are coming along in their relationship. Malcolm is truly a wonderful Daddy for Seth. He's very patient, understanding, loving, and protective, just what he needs. I really like seeing how much Seth is opening up and settling in with Malcolm. Seth is really coming into his own and finally starting to heal. I can't wait for the next one to come out in audio. The narrator is spectacular with these characters and with the overall tone of the story. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audio book.

Great Continuation of Their Story

I enjoyed this continuation of Seth and Malcolm's story. The narration was great, and I was happy to see that it was the same narrator. Malcolm and Seth are perfect for each other. Both of them are helping each other heal in different ways in a way only they can. I can't wait to listen to the final book of their story.

Loving Daddy and his boy

Morticia does it again with this series. So I didn't have the first book, so in order to read this book I had to buy it too and I'm so glad I did. In the Name of the Father laid out the story of Seth and Malcolm. Their story is low-angst but slow-burning from the start. Seth is a sweet character that has been dealt a raw life with a terrible Christian father that hurt him in order to try to remove the gay from his system. Seth went through many trials and tribulations to get to a point that he could start accepting who he is. Having the love of a man like Malcolm also helps him to accept his past to move on with his future.

The character development over the two books was intriguing and interesting. There is a climax in this story where Seth is sought out by members of his church because he has pressed charges against his father and other church members for their treatment of not only him but other boys that have been put through the same treatment. This was a good turning point for Seth's character as we can see that his nightmare will finally come to an end. Malcolm's love and help through this time made the ending of the series bittersweet.

Not only was the plot interesting, Nick J. Russo did a phenomenal job with the narration. This is a series I would definitely read again.

The progression of life

This is a continuation of book one. We get to see the characters deal with the progression of life and the challenges that it brings with it.
Seth with the after effects of his past that will never completely leave him and Malcolm with his sorrow as well that he will have to slowly move away from.

I loved seeing these two form a deeper bond as they navigate their relationship and find what works for them.

The narrarion was done perfectly. Each emotion was articulated so well it was as if you were experiencing it with the characters. An enjoyable listen for sure. I'm eager for the third book to complete this series.

A boy and his daddy

For the Love of a Boy is book 2 in the Father series. This wonderful book continues the story of Seth and Daddy Malcolm. There is more hurt/comfort as Seth continues to deal with his past and when his past is made very present. Daddy Malcolm is so caring of his boy. He really knows what Seth needs. I really enjoyed watching there relationship grow. Definitely recommend this series.
Narrator Nick J. Russo does another fabulous job with this book in the series. He brings out all the feels from the characters.

Not a saggy middle

Seth is still in his dark place. He might have escaped from his conversion therapy camp, but those memories haunt him. He never can quite get out from under them.

Malcolm wants to help but sometimes finds himself powerless. He can’t lessen Seth’s nightmares. He can’t make Seth feel safe. He can just offer love, support, and protection.

But he knows it might not be enough.

For now, though, he can offer security. And within their Daddy/boy relationship they can both begin to heal. Because Seth wasn’t the only one with a tragic backstory. But together they can forge something beautiful.

Until the day Seth’s past comes calling.

(There’s a trigger warning for on-page violence and that warning needs to be heeded.)

This book brought me hope and, by the end of it, I was ready for this Daddy and boy to get their forever happiness. Which conveniently is coming in the final instalment that I’m off to listen to right now.

And I’ll mention Nick J. Russo who does a great job with this book. I always enjoy his narrations and this book was just another one to rack up as well done.

A Stunning Romance, NJR is Spectacular!

An absolutely heartbreaking hurt/comfort romance, Morticia Knight’s Father series, continues with For the Love of a Boy. The second book in the series ends in a very ‘happily for now’, so don’t despair (as I did), Seth is safe in Malcolm’s loving arms!

Meant to be read in order, you’ll need to start with In the Name of the Father, and be sure you’ve got this one loaded up and ready to go. Even better, get this series in audio and you’ll be able to appreciate Nick J. Russo’s brilliant performance!

I’ve been a huge fan of NJR for years, and his performances are always impressive - but what he brings to Morticia Knight’s Father novels elevates his skills to a new level. This is a beautiful story, and both characters have led amazing lives. The passion Mr. Russo infuses into these emotional scenes is truly heart-wrenching.

A gorgeous story, a stunning audiobook series, Morticia Knight’s Father series is an absolute must!

Part two of Seth and Malcolm’s story

I thoroughly enjoyed book one of this trilogy and was eagerly waiting to listen to For the Love of a Boy and trust me it did not disappoint.

Seth has been claimed by Malcolm as his boy, and both men are learning about their love and true strength. Their relationship is growing and Seth is healing from his past, so we have angst but also love and sweetness.

Seth is so strong and brave, Malcolm so caring and loving like a Daddy should be to his boy. Nick J. Russo’s narration is spot on and amazing at portraying the essence of both these men.

For the Love of a Boy - good continuation

I enjoyed the second book in the series. I love the in-depth development. After everything that's happened, a tidy bowed happily ever after wouldn't have worked. I enjoy Nick J. Russo’s as a narrator, but this wasn't my favorite performance of his.

Strength in Love

Malcolm and Seth’s relationship continues to grow and bloom. It’s absolutely beautiful. The tenderness and love they have for each other warmed my heart. This book had angst, but the angst was wrapped in sweet fluff so it never hurt too much. The angst still ached, but those sweet, tender moments between Malcolm and Seth were a soothing balm to the ache.

It was nice to get to know Nate and Tina more, and I wish that I could have seen Seth’s interaction with Malcolm’s parents, especially his mom. The plot was focused mostly on the growing relationship between Malcolm and Seth as well as Seth’s healing process, but there were some action packed scenes near the end that were exciting. The sex scenes were plentiful and amazing. So kinky, so smutty, and very erotic.

Nick J. Russo does a fantastic job with the audiobook narration. All the character voices were distinct and easy to follow, and the energy of the performance matched with the scenes of the book. I really liked this audiobook and found listening to it just as enjoyable as reading the book the first time. This is a great series.

Back with Malcom and Seth.

Back with Seth and Malcolm, and I loved it so much!
While we witness Seth and Malcolm progressing and settling in their Daddy/boy relationship, they also have to face external circumstances and Seth’s past. It’s not easy, but Malcolm is always there to keep his baby boy safe!
Nick J. Russo is such a talented narrator, and he’s great at portraying both Malcom’s strong and soothing tone and Seth’s sweet and more nervos one.
I never wanted this to end…

Story: Another glimpse into Seth's and Malcolm's life together and another heartfelt story! I love with how much care the relationship between them is portrayed! The perfect balance of sensual and hot, with all the emotions approached with skill!

Narration: A great voice for a great story!
